G'd evening all. We're home again after our short break - exhausting but fun! Rosie's had a good time too, but is very happy to be back in her own house now.
Great to have you back with us, kazmeister. I'm with Valli on keeping the bathroom and kitchen as your main focus each day - who would ever want to cook, eat or shower/bathe in a dirty room?
Pigpen, what's that grandsprog of yours up to? Hope the MOT did not overlap the birth x
Glad you've got extra time off this weekend, YL - you deserve it.
Fayolle, I have met some idiot drivers this week too...
In response to the question "Has anyone heard from asb recently?" I texted her yesterday and have a message from her for you all:
"I'm okay - it has been a long tough winter, that's for sure. It has been warmer here these past few days which makes a big difference. I am juggling full time work with the Easter holidays now, and our ewes are due to lamb this week. Lots happening but I'm trying my best to factor in half an hour a day for me. Sometimes I manage it, sometimes I don't! Lots of love to you all."
My flying total so far this week:
- made the beds each day
- loaded the DW
- stripped our beds when we left DS2's today
- unpacked our suitcase and bags; will do washing tomorrow
- emptied the cupboard under the stairs for the Reinstatement Team to finish off filling the holes by the gas meter tomorrow, and early tomorrow morning I must move all the old bamboo canes and plastic flowerpots away from around the new meter.

Crawls in at the middle of the week, having got back from hols yesterday. Decided I can't possibly still have a cold so it must have morphed into hay fever so took anti-histamine instead of lemsip. Not much difference really in the outcome.
- bags of food/clothes etc unpacked and away.
- hastily assembled paperwork for today and tomorrow's assessments.
- even more hastily ordered more test forms as I've run out of some (it's been on my must do list for a while.....).
- wrote Easter cards and a birthday card for Mr N to post. Today he was on Mr T duty as BIL (who came away with us) has staff discount so was eagerly encouraged into Mr T before setting off for home....
- one load through WM, hung out, brought in dry just before the rain.
- bird feeders filled.
- seedlings in greenhouse checked.
- swim booked at Royal Docklands for my birthday weekend away in a couple of weeks. Online induction booked and started.
Ridiculously large amount of work to catch up on so just plodding on trying not to think about anything which I'm not currently doing. However I must stop and buy flowers to do Easter decs for church in the next couple of days. No donors responded to the request for lily money (usually people donate in memory of a loved one) so I've not ordered any. Last year I came across some growing ones in the garden centre which were cheaper than the cut ones so I'm going to have a look. If none, I'm just buying nice 'other' flowers or even just raiding the garden as we have loads of beautiful daffodils.
Glad ASB is ok if busy, give her our love.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Morning all
Sorry for rubbing it in for those who are off to the paid stuff, but I dont have to do anything or go anywhere. No-one elses problems to sort, no unhappy customers, no reports to write or spreadsheets to work on. Heavenly. Thank you for those who said I deserve it, you are all lovely people on here and my life is better for having you in it.
I am contemplating driving to the nearest town and catching the bus to the big city. I could do with some smart but comfortable work shoes that don't hurt my dodgy ankle and really need to go and try some on. I need to be careful not to spend too much but I could have a wander around the shops on my own and maybe a little lunch in a cafe somewhere. If I get the bus I dont have to worry about driving or parking.
The house isnt too bad, DH ran the hoover around yesterday. It's a bit rainy so might hold off on the laundry until tomorrow.
Have a good Thursday all x8 -
Iona.. her partner got up yesterday morning and said 'should I cancel the MOT?' ... Obviously Moron was the reply so I think she got across how unthinking and ridiculous it was.. it isn't even due until the end of May so 6 weeks early and not a priority right now.I managed the S&S the kitchen yesterday and did 1 load of washing.I need a Dunelm trip asap so I have enough pillows and bedding for having the 4 grandbeasts stay over..
Twinkle has a double dose of conjunctivitis alng with her eye eczema.. she looks like a zombie!!
I have a load of washing to hang out, 1 parcel to package and arrange collection for, Dot needs taking for a run before she vibrates herself into another dimension and the front room needs a reshuffle.I have started a blanket for EC's baby.. and retrieved my finished items from the cat!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Hello all.I didn't post yesterday. It was an up and down kind of day, full of surprises, some good, some not so.
Anyway, today I have walked Poppet, done work shift. Met up with friends for tea and cake, met another friend for a short walk, done most dailies and hoovered through. And all before 1pm.
I'm now on leave for two weeks. Yippee.Spend less now, work less later.7 -

Halloooo xx
The good news is that's me finished at the paid stuff until Tuesday. 🥳
The bad news is that I've hurt my leg. I was walking along fine then there was a sharp pain at the top of my calf and walking was suddenly an interesting and very painful phenomenon. Aka limping. Let's hope it's all better by tomorrow. And if it isn't at least I can stay at home and limp. Heyho.
I made my bed and fed the birds this morning, and this evening I unpacked my lunch bag while the kettle boiled for a coffee. So at least that's been put away til Tuesday.
Have a lovely evening
