Clearing my debt after 25 years

Busy day today we got most of the little jobs done we needed to do before the house goes on the market a week today, just need to clean the windows and patio doors and then we are ready! Of course keeping the house clean and tidy for any viewings we might get is a mission in itself, brother and his family are here visiting for the weekend so will be busy spending time with them, and then it will be a mad clean next week before the photos are taken.
Have slept terribly for the last 2 nights so hoping for a better nights sleep tonight.

Having moved 4 times since we got married 7 years ago, I know that feeling of keeping the house clean for viewings, I don't envy you one bit, but it'll be worth it when you get that dream house.1

@outoftheviciouscircle I’ve moved once in the past and the kids where little then and I was younger and seemed to care a lot less! now I have done a thorough clean (including the oven and I’m sure viewers won’t even be looking in there?) I’m hoping it will just be a quick wipe round and hoover ever day and clear away all the crap the others leave laid about especially 16 year old daughter who is doing GCSEs and there are text books and all sorts all over her bedroom.PAD is just £1 today but I see it as better than nothing so I’ll keep going with that have a lovely day everyone xxPay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

99p is my PAD as spent money I didn’t budget for on some trunking for the wires in our rooms just to tidy them up ready for the photos so that was £18.01 unplanned spend, off to the beach today to walk the little dog and then to Mams for Easter Sunday dinner which will be lovely and a free meal hahaPay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

I started PADin the beginning of the year but I've given up as I can't find a way to fit it into the budget.
I would say thats a sign to move!! Imagining all the things that may go wrong with your house. Hope you've had a good day cleaning. Theres nothing more satisfying than when its done.Total debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42

@outoftheviciouscircle I haven’t been PADing long sometimes I miss a day because I don’t want the account to drop any lower but I try and do a £1 if I can, I find I get agitated wanting to pay something off so it kind of keeps the urge at bay. I have cleaned the bathroom today like it has never been cleaned before, it is gleaming! Now if they could all stop using it that would be perfect 😂
I do find myself worrying about all the things that can go wrong and all the reasons not to move, but then I come back to the same thing, location and lifestyle it’s really noisy where we live and busy which was great when the kids where small and I was surrounded by noise, now they are older I crave sitting in my garden and just enjoying a bit of quiet 🤫 so I’m gona go for it, I don’t believe in regrets anyway, that was what you chose at the time and it felt right no point wishing you decided something else when you didn’t, hope you have had a lovely day xxPay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

Feeling utterly fed up today, I’m off work this week and while it’s lovely to spend more time with my Mam, my husband is at work 13 hour days and my daughter (the one left at home) is either at school extra or with friends or revising so to be honest it’s all a bit boring!
house will be live on the market on Friday and that can’t come soon enough because I am currently stressed that it won’t sell, it’s an ex council house on a busy road not on the best estate, and I keep seeing all the negatives to what has been my happy family home for 17 years
I think maybe I am just overthinking everything, in the past life’s not always given me the easiest of paths and I don’t want to want this new house because I’m so worried something will just go wrong and we won’t be able to have it.
well this is a very depressing diary entry! Must give my head a shake and get a more positive outlook, I mean if it doesn’t happen then it wasn’t meant to be.
have been doing some voluntary work lately to try and get some experience to change career, I applied for a job and not heard anything back, I think that’s knocked me to, although there is a chance I will be offered a promotion and a pay rise in my current job but that would mean giving up on the idea of changing, to much stuff just going round and round wish I could turn my head off sometimes
off for a soak in my immaculately clean (ready for photos) bath 🛁Pay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

another another day and another very small PAD, still feeling fed up, my older daughter is on her way home for a few days so that will be nice to see her but she will leave a wake a destruction around the house so I’ll be tidying up more than ever!Photos are being taken by my boss in the morning and I’ll be glad once they are done then it’s all the viewings (should we get any) to clean for.
got our bed stripped off and in the wash so will be nice and fresh, may even treat it to an iron (for the photos)
I think I am most stressed about
A not being able to pay enough of the debt off before we buy the new house and I realise that you can move with debts but it will affect our affordability
B that the house won’t sell or not for enough money
C that it’s just not really worth the hassle for what we actually get at the end
oh I’m a negative Nelly again today!Hope everyone’s day is more positive xxPay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest
