Quick check in for the end of the month, up early today and out riding, was an absolutely gorgeous morning with the sun out and temperature was just right. Came home and have done some yoga and got the slow cooker on as well. Need to research some more cheap and cheerful recipes.
Overall a bit of a spendy month where I dipped into savings for things that I shouldn't have from time to time, but not too bad.7 -
Made a fab cheese and onion pie last night - knocked up the pastry and everything. No potatoes left now. However the fridge is much tidier. This morning I tried on all my nice dresses in readiness for the 'S' word. Most still fit, so bonus there! Sunshine ready, just waiting for the warmth now. They will not sit in the wardrobe. They will be worn in rotation. I have paid for them (all £1-£ 3 in c/s) , now they can earn their keep.I end the month with £30 left in the bank. I have achieved very little except hit my savings targets.Time to start getting things done. Thanks for April @apple_muncher .4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

End of the month and all OK.
The new pup is great, she is very cute and seems quite chilled except when she is chasing DD around the garden.
I've been quite successful in April challenges- painting is finished for the year, some small progress in the garden but lots of plans for more, we had some days out, bought some essential bits for the house and have had lots of fun with minimal spending. Now to plan for May adventures.8 -
End of the month already!I have managed 11 NSDs and not overspent, so fairly successful overall.Today I have been batch baking, using up various ingredients that needed going: past their date eggs, a couple of sad looking lemons one of which had already had its zest removed, a tub of HM lemon curd, rhubarb from the garden triffid, and half an onion and other nonsense from the fridge. I now have 2 rhubarb crumble tarts, a lemon drizzle cake, a coffee sponge and a quiche shell in the freezer, and a lemon meringue pie, a complete quiche and a lemon drizzle cake in the fridge / tin. Might freeze the additional lemon drizzle!Looking forward to May now - we have a wedding at the other side of the country to attend towards the end of the month, which will be an adventure but also spendy, as we have accommodation to pay for, a charity donation in lieu of a present (at the bride's and groom's request, and I probably need some new shoes
On the other hand I may manage without as absolutely nobody will be looking at my feet, when all is said and done.
Thanks for this month's challenge, and I will see you all on the other side9 -
Spend day today. The boy needed cheap joggies, I got some reduced running shoes for £37, DD got some long black trousers for school and some Doc Martens boots for school and beyond. We looked at black trainers and she didn't like anything. Shoes are the only thing which she's hard to buy for. They don't really get pulled up about not sticking to school uniform but I'd like to stick at least to the colours. The Docs were dear but will last, she'll actually wear them and they're good enough quality to sell them on later.
See you in May and thanks for running the challengeDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
Today I am grateful for all you turtles who jump wholeheartedly into all the challenges on here, for getting the needle felting bug again, for a fab workout while dc bouldered, for DH making tea while we were out.April consisted of 3 weeks of holidays for me and only 2 days of work. We had plenty of adventures, out and abouting. The planning is almost second nature (I say almost so as not to jinx myself 🤣). And I fell I have definitely been rejoicing and enjoying life and the changing season. I possibly savoured a few too many treats but May is going to try to be sugar free. Gulp. Have I lived my life? I think I'm getting there. Knowing I'm going to be free from my current place of work soon is rather liberating. I've done a shed load of exercise sessions. I've done a little invigilating already. And the crafting bug is starting to return.I'm looking forward to May. Thanks for sorting it out, Shrewbie xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

@f0xh0les took me a while to figure out what the "S" word is, lol. I hated dresses due to low body confidence till my 30s. Now I have a few for occasions and the "S". Although my German friends can't imagine we get a chance to wear them up here. Funny how your temperature sensitivity changes when you live somewhere long enough. A sunny 17 C is enough up here for the paddling pool, dresses and flip flops, 23 is getting close to too hot. Unimaginable for them. You can tell the newcomers from ones that lived here long enough by the latter wearing short and t-shirt as soon as it hits double figures.
Hopefully the weather warms up soonDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Thanks for this month’s challenge… April was so busy and spendy that I hardly contributed to the turtle chat… I’ll try better in May. Sending good vibes to all of you for a healthier and success-filled month whatever your goals. xNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Thank you for this month's thread @apple_muncher.
I've ended with #7NSD. Would've liked more, but we've been on holiday, so won't beat myself up about it!
Had a lie in today, then walked 5 miles with DH. Did some sewing this afternoon, then went for another walk with DS3'S GF, as she's had a tricky day, though her mum invited herself too. We used to be really close, but I've distanced myself when I learned how little she's done to support her daughter. Now things are coming to light, she's trying to justify her behaviour, but I'm not agreeing with her just to make her feel better.
Had a nice bath, with a facepack & my book.
Grateful for having tomorrow off, walking lots, the rain on our evening wall not bring torrential & GF finding a geocacheUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
