Toni'sfriend said:I've realized that I know quite a lot of people like him. You say "I don't want a drink" but they get you one regardless.... Wonder why that is?Because a social drinker is permissible, a person who drinks alone has a problem. It is why they buy the barmaid one, I worked bars for a good few years, and you began to recognise the difference between who came in because they fancied a drink, and who came in needing a drink. When I started in bars, I probably drank every day, by the time I stopped I was just as happy with a soda and lime.I came from a big drinking family, but actually working in bars scared me into some sense before it became a proper ingrained habit, and I saw it was not exactly normal. For the same reason, I do not bet - I would like it too much. The premium bonds monthly draw is nearly too much for me to handle.

I am delighted to say I reapplied for the BT essentials package today after previously being refused.
It has been granted & this is a big big saving for me.
So anyone3 with a low income & on means tested benefits look into it.

Not an NSD as we needed a wee top up shop. Was so tired after dinner that I went for a nap and didn't wake up for 2.5 he's. Think I have a cold coming. DH is now out to watch the end of the game (no mention of this morning all day). I'm back to bed to read.
See you tomorrow
Edit: he just came home and I heard the clunk of cans.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Thanks @beanielou. Great news about BT for you, I tried for us last week, but as we're on the old style tax credits, & not universal credit, we didn't fit the criteria.

Forgot to set the alarm last night, so still half asleep when I realised it was 7.30 & I was running late!
Nightmare day at work, had to go for a stomp round the block to get rid of some stress. Still some snow/hail showers.
Watched a programme with DS1, we both enjoyed it. Then after tea, I finished altering a dress.
Grateful for the bell at 3.30, going for a walk, the thought of snuggling up in bed soonUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Good morning turtles,
Couldn’t seem to concentrate at work yesterday - too much trying to multi task - so I’m a little behind. It was not an NSD as went to get my eyebrows tidied ( €4)and went into a shop that sells all the £shop (if that’s what’s it’s still called) stuff from the uk. This is always dangerous as I see loads of naughty stuff I want. Picked up 2 bags of mini eggs and mini crème eggs and some toothpaste, all reduced further. However I ended up going back to get more later for bf as I shared them out at work (aka ate most myself) so spent a total of €6.50 there.
going into work early today to make up some time from yest.Grateful for naughty treats, having the motivation to get up and get into work early, for it almost being the weekend.I need to do my round up of the month.Have a wonderful day turtlesStudent loan £5655

Good morning,
Today shall be another NSD. I finished my Asda order for Friday (prefer Aldi but thought for the first big shop I do an online one as not to forget much as I did recently and avoid top up shops).
I will also start my cash envelop system again as it works better for me than what I'm currently doing. I had given up on that as I stupidly told DH about it and he new there was a ready stash of cash in the house he could borrow from. Recently I put all money onto the CC and used that so that I didn't have any cash in the bank or at home. This time I just won't tell him about the change.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/257
