We said patio work and they also replied as patio work. We never knew about the drainage system until the new landscaper told us.oldernonethewiser said:You might get money back but what did you ask the landscapers to do and what did they do that differed from that? The difference in colour could be one thing but drainage, maybe not.0 -

New landscaper told us to complain in trading standards but it’s written in that site that they will close down businesses but not help with refund. We found in google that many people got refund via court. How should we go about this?0

Patio work has been done - not well and not to the standards you expect but that might not be enough to help get the money back. Is the pooling water likely to damage the property? If so that might be a way to approach it.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
Sorry to hear that you got stung by some English cowboys but unfortunately it happens to the best of usDewdrops1420 said:We were chatting in fb messenger and when we asked for the breakdown they said they won’t give and will start the work only if we agree to the quote. We are foreign nationals with no idea about UK gardens and when they reduced from 5000£ to 4000£ we agreed. We had no other option as no landscapers were responding to our enquiry until few days back we got a new one.
We have fb messenger chats as proof.
Not a very nice welcome to our country, If you even take them to court and win you still have to get the money back
Speak again to the other landscaper and get a quote for putting it right and in future don't look for tradesmen on Facebook, try the local builders merchant2 -
Yes the water is moving towards our new lawn laid out by the new landscaper and we have young kids who will slip and fall down.We can’t get out for an day after the rain due to the rain.oldernonethewiser said:Patio work has been done - not well and not to the standards you expect but that might not be enough to help get the money back. The water is pooling on the patio is it not? Is this then running off onto the lawn? Not towards any part of your house.?You can't get out where? On to the patio or the lawn or both?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Will we get the refund after taking them to the court? Is it a tedious process and will we lose further money?MikeJXE said:

It will be up to you to prove that what you asked for was not what was provided.

Is there a time period if we need to complain about these people? Last Thursday they finished the work so it’s just a week now.0
