Money Moral Dilemma: Should I tell my relative about my lottery win from a ticket she got me?

If it is a significant win then you should be aware that the NL will ask you where you bought the ticket. (That is how they caught out a shopkeeper who when asked to check a ticket on his machine said it was not a winner and then tried to claim the £1million payout and he did not know where it was bought from - fortunately she had bought it with other things on a Nectar card and was traceable and the woman found).
But more importantly than that is that what happens after you do not split it? You wont be happy and neither will your relative, resentment and awkwardness (maybe even bitterness and anger) will ruin life. There is no price on happiness. Why not get together and explain the ticket has won and that you would like to involve her on how to distribute it amongst both your family and share what is left 50/50 between you, or just split it 50/50 in the first place.
I am personally not on speaking terms with some of my family but if I won a large amount I will still include them when I distributed it. Not for their benefit, but for mine, peace of mind and a happy life. Would they share it with me if they won? probably not, but that would not be a reason for me not to do what is right for me and my peace of mind.
I think the fact that you take note of the numbers of the tickets you give is an indication that you would expect to share it if she had won..... so really you should be doing the same.
I would split it 50:50 if it was me. Then you can spend/give your half free of guilt and any other negative thoughts now or in the future.1
