Should I say something to the seller about an item in a dirty condition but working?

I bought a second hand karcher pressure washer from gum tree. Very nice seller, good communication, it’s what I wanted but it was not in a clean condition. I just do not understand why would people put away pressure washer without wiping it, got dirt all over. He was kind enough to drop 1 hr drive from where I live but his work was only 5 miles from me for petrol money. I did appreciate that, he offered to test the machine in my presence to satisfy myself it works ok. I declined. I tested the washer yesterday and it worked fine but I felt I should have said something to him that at least he should have wiped it before selling. Looking back at the photos, I could see the dirt on the machine. I do not want to leave negative feedback and again I did not want a confrontation on my doorsteps. Guess it is me not being cautious enough.

If he dropped it off you had the chance to mention something or actually refuse to take it.
What are you hoping to get out of it - a reduction / refund?
I'd just leave as is now, clean it yourself - what's the problem with that?2 -
Hi
Yes, be open and hones inc pics and then play on the strengths, EG, works well, all attachments in good condition, As this item has been used, it is dirty as you can see in the pics but in good, full working order
Good luck0 -
It’s a working pressure washer, so wash it! Not as if it’s something you’re going to display indoors.2

It's a pressure washer, they're designed to live in sheds and garages and get dirty on even the shortest jobs.
As you've already said it works, your first job can be to pressure wash the pressure washer. It will probably take all of 10 seconds.
If someone left me a sneaky negative after appearing happy with the item face to face and the condition even matched the photos, I'd be straight on to the eBay feedback dispute process.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

If only you had some handy device to clean it with.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".5 -

With respect that was not the question. I'm guessing the OP is a bit like me, worries about being spot on and wants to be 100% clear. If I was buying a used washer and it looked like it had been in a mud fight, that would put me off. We are all different and IMO, OP operates a bit like me but I could be wrong
Therefore, my advice as per my itial post should help the OP
Let us know how you got on, OP

ThnaksOh come on now.The OP saw it was dirty in the pictures. The OP saw it was dirty when it was dropped off by the seller. The OP still decided to purchase it and say nothing.Give it a wipe and move on.I'm presuming this is the same pressure washer where the seller said it hadn't been used in 3 years and didn't know whether it worked or not. In that case, why did you decline his offer to test it before purchasing it? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6433468/buying-a-pressure-washer

Your original reply was that the OP should be honest and describe the dirt and play on it's strengths, which, while good advice, is only useful if the OP is selling a dirty pressure washer... which they are not, so how does the advice in your first post help the OP?• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.
