Yes, it's now saying a small amount of negative on Saturday, but Predict has had that in the forecast for several days, although the amount and level is increasing as time moves on. Currently predict says negatives from 0800 - 1600 on Saturday again, with the lowest being -3s during the afternoon. (Eastern) It will be interesting to see how that compares with the actual figures.

It ended up being very sunny here as well as windy, so despite my best efforts I didn't benefit from the negative pricing. However, I did get some laundry and cooking done that I'd been procrastinating about!

I'm currently showing a cost of zero for our 2.89kWh use so far today. Not the greatest, but I'm not complaining for a day when we weren't actually at home! Tomorrow looks OK - nothing spectacular but also a drop straight off the peak at 7pm which is always helpful. Saturday is still looking at though it will be useful.

It was cloudy here, although the irradiance went remarkably high at times, but I switched the PV off at 09:30 and back on at 15:30. Got the car fully charged, two loads of washing done, lamb shoulder slow roasted and various leccy wasting tomfoolery to get about 30kWh paid for.
Now the sun is putting in an occasional appearance, so I should be able to generate a decent amount before bedtime.

I noticed AgilePredict also missed the plunge pricing on the 27th, even on the day before. Is AgilePredict usually fairly accurate? I want to integrate its predictions into my Android app but at the moment I'm not sure if it's worth it. Maybe it doesn't want to promise plunge pricing unless it's sure so as not to disappoint?

thank you for the link.. that site may be a bit complicated for my simple brain.
All I need is something at the start of each week that will tell me what octopus will charge for the coming week or so. I am away at present but when I get back I will undertake a little exercise to record the predictions of agileforecast, agilepredict and xtr.uk and then compare with actual over a week or two. Are there any other sites i should include, ie that predict future octopus agile regional prices?

The top graph on the link I sent is a useful visual. The closer to zero the black line is indicates periods of low prices, when it falls below zero it indicates negative prices. Of course the higher it goes away from zero indicates higher prices.

As a lot of GB electricity generation is weather-dependent (wind and solar) and the price depends to a large part on how much is generated, a price forecast is no more reliable than a weather forecast.
Weather forecasting has become reasonably accurate for 2-3 days hence but is still not great at looking further ahead than that.
With thin mind, I doubt any pricing forecast is going to be reliable for "the coming week or so". You're looking for something that doesn't really exist.

I'm on Cosy with rates 10/24/38p since April and comparing on Agile Buddy it would have been few £ cheaper each month on Agile (17p Vs 18.4p average / kWh) purely aiming at cheaper Cosy periods.
Still hopefull once winter kicks in it will turn around, but just shows that Agile without following it's daily prices can be very cheap.
