Any of it from standing charges or council tax?0 -
I've almost certainly paid more in CT and standing charges, over my lifetime, than the installation cost, so my conscience is clear. Also, I'm adding 30kWh of batteries, so I can support the grid during the evening peak.0

Although I purchased my battery storage to reduce my energy costs, quite admirable investing so much just to support the grid during evening peaks.
I was more surprised that another poster who is quite vocal in their opposition to the level of standing charges and council tax might be prepared to take advantage of such a scheme.
It seems a bit hypocritical?
Anyway, never mind, probably best back to Octopus Agile.

There's a case for arguing that the costs of central government policy - "policy costs" - should be funded via general taxation rather than via a levy on energy bills, but we are where we are.N. Actually, it would have been Eco4 Flex or now Local Grant, the former wanted extra dosh and the latter has not yet received funding - basically if you want free solar you have to have a heat pump as well and get rid of gas to make the EPC uptick work. The latter comes from central government funding which may or may not be recovered directly from energy bills but would not surprise me if they just "cancel" it as they do not have enough dosh do all they want to do. Again, having both solar and Agile takes the heat off the grid so seems to merit zero s/c tariff. Not that bothered at the moment as the combination of zero s/c tariffs and winter fuel payment, hopefully just before winter, should further lower my net energy costs and allow me to start recovering some of the money previously taken by the energy co's.0

Dragging the thread back on-topic, we have some lovely low rates tomorrow, including a brief negative at 3pm.
