Maybe I'm being dumb here, but people keep telling me that prices are going up in April even though the 20% increase has beeen abandoned, but I've not heard anything from my provider about rate changes, the last time was in December for the January rise, or has it only just been announced so will probably get the notification soon?0

But we are at risk of hijacking the OPs thread now, despite being edf price card related, its not really related to main request - to present rate cards as a quick reference point.. Apologies.
The media conflate £2500 average across all regions for dd duel fuel gas and single rate electric with pricing for all - as fixed prices for all.
But the prices are regional - and the balance relative to yhat one nominal average shifts.
The net changes in Jan for gas and SR electric were tiny -
- unless on E7 or other multirate electric - almost transparent.
If your on standard - single rate - the new prices per unit are on the gov website and the sc on the Ofgem tables.
Or look above in this rate card thread - where one user has merged the info guess for DD . And another set of tables shown from govt reports for other methods.
E7 and multirate electric prices are far more flexible on day and night rate splits (even on epg discount applied where suppliers have provided pre and post discount - only seen that across all regions for edf ) - hence the large %.
Ofgem actually set a seperate SC and average unit rate for multirate electricity and for single rate. The suppliers then apply day night splits within those constraints and then the EPG discount adds more variation - as can be applied differently to both.
The MR price in my region went up over 2p in Jan, the SR dropped by 0.2p, and the EPG discount tracks the SR pricing.
Only around 10-15% homes are on multirate meters and even fewer on multirate tariffs on those meters.

Just switched from E.ON Next DD E7 Eastern to EDF.
My usage was day:night 50:50 Jan and Feb, now moving to 40:60 and in a month will be 30:70 mostly due to no more heating during the day and washing/cooking pre 8:00am BST from next week.2 -
My E7 tariff with EDF changes as posted before on 1 apr 23. The increse in the night rate is ridiculous I take it there is nothing that can be done? I have switched across to night usage by the installation of batteries which charge at night and now this spend to save measure has been seriously impacted.
Any advice?

@herbieg69 although the increase in the night rate seems ridiculous if you look at the history of the EDF night rate over the last year or so you'll see that it's been going down at the time when most other prices have been going up. So it's not so much a question of paying a "ridiculously high" price now as it is a question of paying a "ridiculously low" price over the last year. I know that doesn't help your current situation and I do sympathise with you, but unfortunately that's the way that it is. I think you're just gong to have to take this on the chin and find another way to balance the books. Not what you want to hear I'm sure but better to be straightforward I guess and I hope this helps somehow.

Only real advice is to look around to see if you can find a better price from another supplier, and switch. The problem is that EDF set some extraordinarily low night rates previously - probably largely in order to gai new customers - and now that they have, they are relying on being able to increase those rates back to a rather more plausible level and inertia meaning that they retain a good amount of the new customer base. Personally I think I'd be working on the basis that it had been good while it lasted, but that all good things must come to an end. It was never realistic that those night rates were going to be hanging around forever unfortunately.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I showed some of the items on this thread to my son, he then showed me his new rates just received from I believe its Scottish Power - they seem a lot higher than several have mentioned - he lives in Devon

Some other people will be quoting single rate prices, or DD prices - but the rate tables cover moreThats a SP E7 (or legacy multirate tariff).65.18 = 237pa - 226.58 ex VATLooks like South Western regions - Standard Credit (pay on bill receipt) - £226.60 annualy ex VAT - as per OfgemNote that is almost £24 ex vat pa more than DD at £202.92 pa ex vat - 58.4p - so nearly 7p a day difference. And over and above that £24 - there's another £100 or so - built into the total E7 TDCV 4200kWh price (c£2303 vs c£2175) - those are pre EPG discount prices - for pay by bill - c2.4p vs DD (other payment in Ofgem tables). You have to be anti DD for a good reason (and people do have issues) - to pay the additional price. Some others just don't realize how much more there actually paying. The actual day / night slit - SP / all other providers - have a lot of sway in that. So more difficult to compare - just look at other tables here - for EDF / Octopus etc for same payment method - or get quotes if interested in swapping.EDF table prices appear to be 65.19p 48.59p 15.06p for South West / Cash Cheque - higher on day , lower on night, same on SC (as Ofgem)But for DD, they are 58.37p 44.91p 13.93p and SP may offer similar savings if willing to switch payment method.New Octopus rates also posted above. DD 56.7 SC, 43.47/15.93 Vs non DD 62.2, 43.88,16.49As E7 itself - has been an active switch for price area - unlike flat rate - across Ofgem rate changes and EPG discount changes. That mix of prices may be better or worse - depending on energy split and home heating method etc.The day rate is down nearly 6p, the night up 2.3p - and as spring - if for instance the night was primarily heating - that might well be a favourable change for the next Q.
