mmmmikey said:An update.....Checked the EDF app this morning - it shows exactly the same SC and unit rates as before but now shows these as applying from 1st April. This is for E7 / East Midlands. Could be I caught it whilst they're making the changes or (more likely I think) they're just going to hold charges at the current level for the next 3 months.

For north of Scotland E7 EDF
Tarrif changed from
Day 43.69 to 42.26
Night 13.52 to 17.32
Will need to work out as im over year 67% night, will need to calculate usage spit from april to september last year. Its usually close to 50% in summer months.
But we still have some cold snaps here into April historically, so may end up being a price increase for me of up to £180 based on these unit prices.1 -
I wonder if this reflects the sheer number of users who have flooded to EDF for their super-cheap night rates over the past few months? It will be interesting to see how other suppliers have interpreted things. As a sweetener for those with EDF and feeling a sting though, you're probably still paying a good deal less than many of those with other suppliers!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I wonder if this reflects the sheer number of users who have flooded to EDF for their super-cheap night rates over the past few months?Guilty as charged. I switched to them in January as that 7p off peak rate (Eastern) was just so good. It meant I was paying less for electricity than I was in 2020. The increase to 8.59p from April is not great but to be honest, I would still have switched to them if that was their rate back in January.
My calculations based on my annual use equate that to an extra £15 a year (or 4p a day). The majority of which is down to the standing charge. I suspect we will worse off by a little more than that as we bought a PHEV and I have yet to factor the extra kWh that uses but it only charges off peak. At an extra 10kWh average per day I estimate an extra £66 a year for the PHEV.

A big increase but no complaints at all from me. I've just made my first electricity payment for 6 months - a grand total of £21.13. Over the course of the last year I've received more in Government support for energy than I've spent and on top of that I have FIT payments for my solar panels. It was inevitable (and in my view absolutely right) that this level of support would come to an end. I'll only be paying a lot more over the next year as a result of not having paid anything (well actually having made a profit) over the last year (if that makes sense!)0

Well that answers the question that we'd been debating here for a while about the PAYG E7 night rate for the Eastern region from 01/01/23 then...I think we can safely assume it was a typo that they felt they had to honour...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Certainly remember a few wishing they could.0
