New telegraph pole installed, would like it moved - please help!

Sorry if this is the wrong place...
Long story short, I woke up one morning to see across the road a newly installed telegraph pole. It's really frustrating for several issues (other than the obvious fact it's an eye sore!). But main issue is that the street is really tight for parking and the idiots who marked up the plan didn't think to take this into consideration (assuming as it's parking on the 'curb' vs the road).
Many of the houses here have drives, but (like many older properties) they were designed with a certain amount of cars in mind - now days people have several cars per house, buying houses with no drive and having 2 cars, they guy down the road has at least 5 cars on the street and so on.
I caught up with the installers a couple days after installation (they returned to straighten the pole) and the main issue seems to be that although cars were asked to be moved to allow the installation, no-one thought to question the installers - apparently they have a plan with an 'x' and have a 2mtr movement allowance, if they had moved it 2mtrs to one side that strip could still take 2 cars, but now it can only take one.
I mentioned this (politely) and he said if someone had said at the time they could have, but now it's too late. He also said, if I complain, don't use parking spaces as reason because it will be thrown out. I suggested property devaluation (although it's outside the only council house) and he suggested it was for the fast fibre so actually would increase the value of property. He also said asking to move it (rather than remove) would be the best option.
So, before I go further I'm asking of there's any guidance on this kind of thing out there.
Thanks in advance

That "strip" looks like a pavement to me and not a car parking area.

So you want it removed/moved, so you can continue parking on the footpath ?11

There appears to be an OpenReach chamber next to the post, and so very likely OpenReach ducting underneath the 'verge'. Vehicle wheels running over this are could lead to the ducting (if present) getting damaged.Complaining to the council is more likely than not to get the parking stopped entirely. It might be better to keep quiet and keep at least one space (for the time being).3 -
@goonergaz70
You are right about the pole possibly being in the wrong place but for the wrong reason.
It is normal good practice to instal a pole so it is in line with the boundary of the properties, for sightline purposes and if someone wanted a dropped kerb and driveway the pole installed in line with boundary would not be in the way of that. There may be services in the verge at that location which led to present position being chosen.
The installers ( who do not deserve to be called derogatory names) were trying to guide you as to the best course to take.
If you do want to take it further get in touch with Toob as per notice attached to pole.
The only thing I could query about that instal is if they are going to put some top dressing and seed on the verge to make good.2 -

Thanks for your input. FWIW if you think I'm bad, think about the people who have threatened me for parking on 'their' special space outside there house - to the point of knocking on my front door and calling me all sorts of lovely names on a Friday night after a long week of stressful work.Grizebeck said:

I see no issue with where its been placed.
The OP needs to get over it
Not for me, and apparently neither the house it lovingly blocks light to.diystarter7 said:Hi OP

Thanks, point taken. Be interesting to see how that could be done, like I said, if everyone parked legally then no bin collections etc.Section62 said:goonergaz70 said:

Just to clarify on the bolded, I never called them any such things - and was completely polite and constructive to the point he even said how he appreciated my approach and wish everyone was more like me. The idiots I'm referring too are the pencil pushers who probably never visited the area or indeed felt it might be an idea to speak to residents, I'm a great believer in getting buy-in on things that are going to negatively affect people.Eldi_Dos said:@goonergaz70

And yes, 100% - I questioned why it wasn't placed on the boundary line for those very reasons, that's when they told me about the 2mtr rule and that would have been too far...it's just a shame I wasn't home when it happened because they seemed very nice guys who might have very well just put it the other side of the services cover which would allow for the extra space.
Looks like it is what it is, just a shame (like I said) that some common sense wasn't applied to the positioning.0 -

edit - wow, just read some old posts from 2011 - I had no idea they could just rock up with double yellows, crazy stuff. Even so, I doubt it based of other areas around me - makes you wonder though, what would happen...it would be an insanely bad move.0 -
Is that a disused water trough to the side of the blue bin?0
