fisherjim said:PPC's copy double yellow lines to trap people they do not mean the same on private property as they do on the street, in fact they could say that no blue cars can park on them if they want, welcome to the scammers paradise.Ignore debt collectors they are powerless, the housing association are telling porkies if they engaged PCM they engaged PCM for the site, what does the signage say?It could be argued of course if the DYL's are not mentioned on the signage they can be interpreted as being the same as street DYL's, photos of the signs in the dark should be taken and dated for evidence.NB their operative did not "break the law" this is an unregulated industry full of dodgy practices.Thank you both for your advice. My son-in-law phoned the housing association to complain about someone else parking there who was visiting a different street and they said to him then that they only monitor the bays. I don't think they really care, they've just left it to PCM.I've photographed the sign from where I was parked and in the dark and so have they as part of their evidence. You can't read it from there but does that matter if you can see there's a sign?I've taken a photo of the full sign. It reads 'Vehicles must be parked with a valid parking permit fully displayed in the windscreen and parked wholly within the confines of a marked bay appropriate for the permit on display'It mentions nothing anywhere about the DYL's and says at the bottom in small print 'A Parking charge can be issued if you breach the terms and conditions clearly advertised on the signage within the restricted area'.0

No, you didn't have to admit being the driver. Your husband, nor anyone else for that matter, will ever get a CCJ for any reason, irrespective of whether it is for this disputed invoice for parking or for anything else.db3333 said:
It was Parking Control Management Ltd. I've ignored the debt collectors.I had to say it was me driving because my husband is due to renew the mortgage later this year and if they do take it to court he can't afford to risk a CCJ.
Far too many people are unfortunately ignorant of what a CCJ actually is. A CCJ will only ever be issued if you are taken to court and you lose that claim. However, you will not have a CCJ on your record if you pay the amount of the CCJ within 30 days of judgment. It will never appear on your credit record.
Hopefully, by now, you will have read the Newbies thread. You will probably have to read and study it several times until you become familiar with the process you are now involved in.
If the PCN you received was not POFA compliant, this would have been an easy win. However, we are were we are and you now need to figure out how to defend against this scam.
You are beyond any appeal stage now. You must IGNORE all letters from debt collectors. They will appear to be intimidating with all sorts of threats which are simply untrue. They are powerless to do anything.
The next thing is to wait for a LoC or LBCCC. The PPC has up to 6 years to bring a claim. They may never bother but if they do, that is when you have to take the next step in this process. It is all explained in the Newbies thread, second post.

In order to prevent confusion and duplication, I would suggest that all advice for this OP is now entered in this thread:

I'll request that the mods close this thread.1 -
Again you have got that wrongdb3333 said:B789 said:Which PPC? So, you revealed the identity of the driver. Not a good move. You need to read the Newbies thread near the top of the forum. You do NOT communicate with the debt collectors. They have no powers to do anything, no matter how much they threaten in their letters. It was Parking Control Management Ltd. I've ignored the debt collectors.I had to say it was me driving because my husband is due to renew the mortgage later this year and if they do take it to court he can't afford to risk a CCJ.
Completely irrelevant.
No link between the 2

I've also included photos of their operative dressed as he was and parked across 2 of the parking bays another night and displaying no permit himself. Can we see those photos please? Redact your numberplate if it shows your car.
As @Grizebeck says, ignore Trace completely. Laugh at their letters. We know what we are doing and we never put anyone at risk of a CCJ.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you all. Yes I've started reading through the Newbies thread now - I couldn't find the correct link to the relevant info when I tried looking yesterday.

I'm actually not beyond the appeal stage at the moment as they've backtracked on their initial refusal, and now I (stupidly!) gave them my details it has transferred into my name as though it is a new ticket and the 14 day appeals process has been offered again.
I'll see if I can upload the pics of their guy and his dodgy parking!1 -
