Yes, I will get the fixed rate to the end whatever I do.Scot_39 said:
Are you sure about the on fix to end ?.Sea_Shell said:No difference. AIUI even if you "choose" it, you'd stay on your fix until the end.
They just don't appear to have changed their software to account for the current situation, compared to when fixes were available.

You won't get the quoted price, as it'll change on the 1st April.
Fixes aren't fixed, unless you let them be. You can terminate a fix at any time - some for free, some with an exit fee, but as soon as you requested it, it would change.
And don't see why different now.
To the system, its just another tariff, and you are requesting it.
I would leave it to the auto to be safe.
Apparently this is because I am in the renewal window.2 -
The tariff will change automatically - SP system didnt actually send out the renew email - despite it still saying on the web page to expect 6weeks notice.RG2015 said:I have been on a fixed price tariff with E.ON Next that ends on 31st March. I received an email with the following;
"You'll stay on your current prices until your tariff ends on 31 March 2023. Then at the end of your contract, you'll automatically move on to our standard variable Next Flex tariff."
However when I look at my account online it says the following; It’s time to renew your tariff.
Check out our tariffs and switch to the one that’s right for you.
Renew your tariff
I am assuming that it is just a bit sloppy from E.ON and that there is no difference between me renewing and them doing it automatically.
But their on line system also looked normal - apart from the restricted tariff choice - only 1 - svtvon the list. But if selected - it gave new figures etc - so looked real.
I advised parents not to confirm / select it, and didn't - it rolled over as promised on 28th / 1st.
Not convinced it wouldn't have switched right away.
It did 2 years ago - 3m before end of their previous fix.0 -
If you want to increase your DD manually to benefit from Santander cashback, you can probably just do this, separately from your tariff ending.
You'd be limited to a certain % above their recommended, but it would be up to £250 a month, before you max out at £5 a month c/b (2%)How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)0 -
Ah I was doing it 3 months early 2 years ago - think SP send the renewals notice around 6 weeks normally.RG2015 said:

Thanks - bear that in mind in future.
It wasn't obvious itvwould wait and didn't want the risk of confirming.
Maybe if went through next confirm selection button it would have said.
They were on not a really cheap fix, cf other suppliers at time, as did not want to switch, but was worried that if confirmed, might be paying c£10pm for couple of weeks earlier than needed.1 -
For the OP have you thought about leaving Eon Next or are you happy with them.
If our fixed was ending with them (it doesn't as we did the two year fix v18 til April 2024) then I might just stick with them til end of summer to see if they offer any new fixes with the predicted lowering of prices. They offered decent fixes just before the energy crisis so might just offer something decent as we head out of it.0 -
Yes, I did this when the S 123 Lite did double cashback. The problem arose when trying to reduce it back down as they would only allow a maximum 10% reduction.Sea_Shell said:If you want to increase your DD manually to benefit from Santander cashback, you can probably just do this, separately from your tariff ending.

I had the request the reduction by email.1 -
I am very happy with E.ON Next so I have no thoughts of switching.Mstty said:For the OP have you thought about leaving Eon Next or are you happy with them.

If the cash back is only 2% why would OP want to max it out ?Sea_Shell said:If you want to increase your DD manually to benefit from Santander cashback, you can probably just do this, separately from your tariff ending.

You can get more in a standard instant access on line savings account on the money, possibly a lot more in a regular saver.
There are some paying over 6% with right bank / account.
Lending it to the energy company for 2% and yhe potential rebate i.e, access issues seems a strange choice.0 -
You are comparing 2% per month ( = 24% p.a.) on a payment that would happen anyway with 6% p.a. for locking money away in a savings account.Scot_39 said:

I did like the fact there we no exit fees with Eon next, I do hope they continue this when the market opens up to a bit of competition again.RG2015 said:

I am eyeing up a time of use type tariff from the tentacled supplier come April 2024 but will stay if they Eon come up with a competitive fix to provide stability, especially with no exit fees as it's a no brainer👍0
