Congratulations kissmenow.
ASB, I hope the snow thaws soon.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Oh congratulations kissmenow xxxx Becoming a Mum is a huge change and it takes time to adjust, be kind to yourself.
Drive out to the coast today when the snow had melted, lunch out again, will have to be extra frugal once I get back to work. Grubby kitchen floor scrubbed and downstairs tidied. One load of washing over the airer.
Hope the snow is gone soon ASB x7 -
Slinks in to congratulate kissmenow and commiserate with ASB, Pigpen and anyone else in need.
We had a lot of swirling snow on Wed but none settled, drizzly rain yesterday and supposedly forecast today - only it snowed again so I wimped out of running. The jury's out whether I will venture to the lake to swim tomorrow as the forecast is for minus whatever overnight.
Just about keeping up with work, fine tuning details for a few days away (family meal next week; BILs birthday/retirement trip at the end of the month and my birthday weekend in April), still sorting clothes out and not putting anything in new wardrobes which I'm not prepared to wear soon. Flying....hm, kitchen is ok, shopping done, washing up to date and dailies ok.....cc paid, other bills paid, yawn.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Congratulations to you and your OH, kiss_me_now9, and welcome to the world, little one xxx Baby arriving 3.5 weeks early must have been a bit of a shock! Don't worry too much about Flying for now - just accept every offer of help that comes your way. and grab as much sleep as you can.
Hope you're feeling better this evening, pigpen x
So sorry to hear about the hens, asb, but hope the ewes and their lambs are all OK x
Our snow had all melted by lunchtime, and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon, so I managed to get to cardio rehab and then did a food shop on the way home. DH has to have a special diet for the next 3 days in preparation for an investigation at the horse piddle on Tuesday. Everything he is allowed to eat seems to be white, beige or pale yellow and all wrong for SW, but of course I'm not going to cook two completely different meals. However, I've done a pack-up for his lunch tomorrow, as he's going to an all-day meeting in cathedral city, and that means I can eat something a bit more colourful
My bed calls. G'night all xxx7 -
ASB... you will have to turn your home into a barn and bring everyone in and pretend it is Bethlehem!
6.. congrats xx My daughters SIL had her baby a couple of weeks early yesterday.. she has crohns and a lot of scarring internally so had a section.. also a little boy! My daughter has 3 weeks left and hates the world.Everything hurts.. OH had to come pick us up from school.. I managed to get there but couldn't get back.. fun times.I have knitted a cardigan bar one sleeve.. I ordered wool for a blanket for the new grandbeast.. I decided none of the 8000 colours I have were suitable.. the best part was the only balls in the colours I wanted are 400g balls so I may end up knitting 10 blankets!! lol
OH loaded the DW, took out recycling and maggot bin..Oh.. fun thing.. I picked up some swimming bits to see if they had been washed of not.. slapped it right in my face to sniff it and got a lung full of cat wee.. my poor eyes were on fire!!! Thankfully my sense of humour is in tact... taking my headache to bed after OH has made another cupa so I can neck more drugs..

Good morning all
Congratulations, kissme xx A new Flybaby on the block! It’s incredibly tough to start, so do what the wise ones here say - rest when you can, take all offers of help, don’t be fooled - a lot of mums are being swans, and know that it will get better.
Hugs, ASB xx
Up at 4am to see DH off the premises for a business trip to the other side of the world. The house is now strangely quiet with just me. However, I have read my book in bed, have a cuppa and am not yet dressed. Oh the sheer decadence of it!Flying has been even more neglected than usual, and that is going some! The vague plan is that this weekend is my flying opportunity, along with a week to kick start slinky. So let's see how that turns out, when I already have finishing my book in my sights for this morning. I have weighed in, and promptly changed the scales to kg, as those aren’t real as compared to stones 😱.
First jobs - get dressed, 2nd cuppa, make a list or 10. And finish my book - that’s decluttering, after all 😉.
Love and hugs to all x8 -
Kissme congratulations, and best wishes to you all.ASB sorry about the hens, can you get the sheep in any where? to keep them safe, or build a largeish square out of bales, and sheet it tent fashion?Daily stuff doneSnow was here 1st thing but has now melted, sun is out, but very slippery in the shade, as I found out when getting the logs.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Lake swim was lovely; chilly water but sunny so very refreshing and uplifting.
Checked greenhouse, some seeds starting to come up. Found enormous pretty yellowish slug in a seed tray, looked it up and it is a Cellar Green slug so does not eat my plants, just detritis so it is welcome.
Did quite a bit more in the garden.
Finished and emailed a report.
Went through 'flagged' emails and got rid of a few.
Filled bird feeders.
Checked church reading for tomorrow and duties for forthcoming month.
Sadly not much else done that was on my list but the night is yet young so I may start another report and order more bird food.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.5 -

Morning all,
Brrrrr, Narc0, you have all my respect for the outdoor swimming.
Yesterday’s flying saw off the downstairs, even the kitchen floor got mopped. A couple of cupboards sorted, including one in the kitchen where the top shelf was thick with dust, as were the glasses on it. Obviously those glasses aren’t much used, so I have them in my decluttering sights. Then I remembered that I had actually vacuumed downstairs in the week which was why it wasn’t too bad … so today I am going to give upstairs a quick clean through. Memory like a sieve. Wm is on. I might sow some tomato seeds, although with the lack of seed germination so far, that may be a waste of time. They are being coddled indoors, not left to the unheated gh, but the temperature inside with the heating on so much less, probably isn’t actually helping.
I started rummaging through the ancestors, after some help and tips from the lovely Iona. Sorting out my mum’s copious notes is going to take some time. I think I am reinventing her wheel, but time will tell.
Have a lovely day all. Yesterday’s book was finished, new one started, I am absorbed (and distracted) yet again. xx7
