Oh dear, I have a vision of a dog in an apron an chef’s hat, cooking a stir fry for YL! I know it wasn’t intended, but you have made me smile! Mr M has not appeared with my shopping. The last one was 2 hours early. This one not at all - yet… I am making pie for dinner. Proper cooking AND the oven will be used.
Thanks ladies. You really do make me feel so much better.
@Valli yep definitely old enough now (11 & 9). I delegate a lot to them already, they do lots of outside jobs for me such as topping up the hay and water. Issue is they get really tired too - long school days with heavy forest school element so they are outside most of the day. They do what they can to help me bless them.
I’ve got the kitchen fire going today and I’m so thrilled I have. We are set for heavy snow and minus -8 on Thursday - school have already said it will likely shut. Heavy snow generally means patchy electric and zero internet so I’ll be planning a day of games, crafts and drawing. There have been some early lambs here in the valley down the way, I hope they are all strong enough for what’s coming.
WM on, babes in bed and read a book time. Love to you all, you rock xx
PS Kaz I’d welcome you with open arms xx PPS YL have a lovely time in Leeds. If you fancy getting on the Settle - Carlisle line you know where we are ☺️X

Me too!
Sorry to have been MIA for the past couple of days. Yesterday was my 3-month birthday Cardio rehab is still wearing me out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and as it is 4 weeks since I started, they have now upped my exercises to the next level.
This morning I woke up feeling OK but then developed a migraine-type headache (possibly caused by the latest addition to the blood pressure meds?) so after taking Rosie for her walk in the covert I spent most of the afternoon on the sofa, snoozing under a blanket; however, Rosie is not cuddly like YL's dog and snoozed under DH's chair. So much for me decluttering a long list of jobs for today! At least I have managed to cross off a few of the smaller ones.
asb, please take care of yourself and don't allow other people to wear you out x, I'm with Valli on the suggestion of delegating fire laying to your children - I learnt to do this before I was 5yo although I wasn't allowed to light fires on my own until I was 10, and then only because I was coming home from school to a cold house an hour or so before my mother got back from work. Anyone else remember using a gas poker?
Hope you are taking some time out this week to pamper yourself, dancemum x
It sounds as if DH might have finished the washing up, so I must go and clean out both fridges and make sure that I haven't forgotten to include everything that is still edible in my meal plan for this week.
I dare not attack the hedge just yet, i am refusing to go up ladders as i need to be fully mobile for my radiotherapy. When they do cut it they don’t shift what’s over the fence, though the previous occupants did.
Kitchen and bathroom cleaned. including waggling a thin brush down the bath drain and being both disgusted and impressed with what came back up. Nipped to emmandess for the stir fry for tea and got a cheesecake (lemon) for £2.10 instead of £5. wish i had noticed the blue snowflake as there were two. we’ve had half, rest is in the freezer.
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

Up and ready for work, but no way am I digging the car out and driving the lanes to get there! Glad that I sorted out the car and that the shopping finally arrived last night. 2 less things to rearrange. The wm is on, and I will see what I can do from home as I really don’t want to use a precious day’s leave up if I can avoid it.
Woke up to 2 pukey beasts.. they are banished to the other room.. in the bed.. if they are too ill for school they are too ill to be spreading germs!
Rang school to report absences and rang Dentist to change Twinkles appointment so instead of tomorrow she is going on the 23rd. DS2 has opticians this evening and I have just 1 payment left on my paypal 'pay in 3' and that is all the sale stuff and christmas stuff and DS2's birthday present paid off.. and a huge amount of cash not going out which will be directed primarily at the utility bill situation then the holiday... and then OH's next account.. I want to get that cleared so we can get school uniform stuff before summer hols.
Morning ladies, still here. Been busy, lambing has started and I'm also trying to get a million seeds to germinate.
@asparklyblonde, I agree with what others have been saying. You need to look after yourself and your littlies. If you've no time to light the fires, please lighten the load elsewhere. Can you cut your hours at work a little? Maybe increase them again in summer? Especially as the weather has now turned cold again, we have snow now, so you probably have much more. As my dad used to say "Illegitimi non carborundum".
I'm off now to Hoover the stairs, son in law working at the office today so don't have to worry about the noise. Then prepare tea, reload DW, sort the washing and put it away, sweep the kitchen, check on sheep, that's enough for now.
Oh no! Amber weather warning for Leeds tomorrow, heavy snow all day. I was so looking forward to seeing DS2. We arent actually supposed to get much snow here, but I guess it doesnt make much sense to travel to Leeds when the weather forecast is so bad. Might see if DS can do Saturday instead when the weather is hopefully better.
Walked 11.5 miles today with DH. We walk a lot but not usually that far! Both hobbling about now. It was brilliant though.
