jasonwatkins said:Interesting. I got the Asda card a while back and haven't had any notifications of closure and I use it regularly.2

At the risk of repeating myself: I just got given an unsolicited increase in my Asda card credit limit, so it looks like Jaja are shifting focus rather than exiting the credit market per se.1

Agreed. This looks like an adjustment of lending priorities toward Asda, possibly also making room for other affinity arrangements they know are in the pipeline too. Amazon maybe?

Just received my cancellation email too. My payment due date is the 28th of the month, ie today — that’s possibly the trigger for the emails? Ex-Post Office card holder too, and I pay in full every month.0

Yep, just got my email too, weird as I have been using it recently, spent a few hundred USD couple months ago and just spent 4K last month on it renting a villa in Mauritius, paid for in Euros, so the 0% forex fee is really handy. Bit of a PITA them closing it as was going to use it on holiday too, guess I'll just have to take my business elsewhere if they don't want me as a customer any more.0

There are certain cards, both debit and credit that are not listed the article linked to above. They are cards that allow fee free spending in Euros only. Well within SEPA countries, so not all of Europe.Metro bank has this feature for both credit and current accounts. If memory serves, I think Lloyds bank also has this feature for their debit cards, but you would need to confirm.HTH.Edited to change "and debit account" to "and current accounts".0

Hello. I usually carry a small balance (about 30 GBP) and I have not received an email about closure. I hope those pennies of interest they collect keep them going!

I've just received the goodbye email. I'm also a past customer of the post office CC.
I use my card every month and I always pay it off in full every month.
It does seem like it's those that pay off the full amount are the ones they are discarding.1 -
Another ex Post Office customer here. I mainly use it for foreign currency spending. The email came today and I was accepted for a Barclaycard Rewards card in under 10 minutes.
