    Thanks MF & @Chrystal

Had a lovely day on Father’s Day. DF and my sister came down for lunch and we sat in the garden for a while. The thunderstorm and flash floods didn’t start until 5pm after they had gone ⚡️⚡️

Today I have ordered my lino for the bathroom £94 and will need to pay the fitter on the day £40.
DF has brought me a bag of rocket and a cucumber from his allotment. I have also made a big bowl of coleslaw with the rest of the cabbage he gave me leftover from Sunday.

Went to see my old school friend for cuppa & cake each I bought yesterday. She has invited me to lunch on Thursday together with her mum & sister & D-in-law with grandchild and I have invited DF to dinner tomorrow as I am cooking liver & onions 😋

Leftover tikka chicken from Saturday takeaway has been  defrosted for my dinner tonight.

You're eating well, having loads of catch ups while getting your home done. That's a varied week / month with sufficient activities to keep mobile.

Keep it up as there's so much positivity ☺️

    Thanks MF 😊

Yesterday I took down the net curtains left in the spare room by the previous owners and hand washed them. Couldn’t believe how dirty they were but after several changes of water they are now clean and line dried. There is a small repair needed so I will dig out my sewing kit. DF painted the ceiling (large tub of white paint bought a few months ago) and I have borrowed the carpet cleaner from my niece, so that’s a job for this weekend. I also washed the curtains (which were moved to my room for a while) and rehung them in the spare room. It looks so much cleaner and brighter already. I can’t afford new wallpaper at the moment but that can wait.

Also went shopping to aldee total spend £42.27 which should be enough food to last until I pay myself again from savings next Friday.

Remaining in current account £31.30 & cash in my purse £2.50. Should have enough petrol to last until “payday”.

Am going into town on the bus with DF next week while the fares are still £2. DF can use his bus pass and it will be cheaper/ less faff than parking. I will treat us both to fish and chips from our favourite chippy, which has been there for years since I was small and I want to get a quilt for the spare room so will check out primarni.

I am trying to go for a walk every day and am popping down the village this afternoon to see my old school friend.

All sounding good. The altered curtains were a good saving.

Thanks @Chrystal MF SW and @doingitanyway

Time seems to be flying past, I can’t believe it’s almost the end of June.

Shared an indian takeaway & bottle of wine in the garden with old school friend on Saturday. DF bought cooked sausages and cooked chicken on Sunday and we had some with salad. Both days were too hot to cook!

Yesterday the fitter arrived with my lino, £40 for fitting and the bathroom is now complete apart from a blind. Will keep looking for bargains 😁

    Enjoy your bathroom.
The shared takeaway and wine in the garden with a good friend is one of the small pleasures I'm looking forward to when I finally get my own home!

Thanks dia. I’m so glad I don’t have to have any more tradesmen in for the foreseeable future 🤞 I know it’s my problem that I feel uncomfortable but anxiety is not rational.

I think I would have struggled with the move without my school friend and her family as well as DF & my family.  I grew up as part of her large family and they have welcomed me back. I am missing my friends down south, DS and puppy dog so I think it’s time to arrange another visit.

Gas & Electric readings have been submitted. Gas £17.31 Electric £49.15 minus remaining credit, left £43.64 to pay. I have £200 in my energy bills pot and am adding £100 a month. I still don’t want to set up a direct debit as they are still estimating an annual gas bill of £1800 😳 so I have made a one-off payment on my credit card and will transfer money from my savings pot once the credit card bill is due. My tariff is due to reduce from 1 July so I will submit another reading on 30 June.

I have been receiving daily text messages (scam?) telling me I have debt and including a link to pay. The one yesterday said it was for an unpaid sky bill. I have never been with sky. I have googled the company and they seem to be a debt collection agency. I have just been deleting the texts and ignoring them. I tried to block them but texts are still coming through. I am thinking I will get a free credit report just to check there is nothing unexpected going on
