We’ve had some not so good news about my amazing Dad’s health this evening and it’s left me feeling dreadfully sad and tearful. My Dad is my hero and the only man in my life I have ever been able to rely on 100%. He is just the kindest soul. Facing up to the fact that he is declining rapidly just breaks my heart. There’s also the worry of him being my Mum’s carer and what would happen if…
My Mum can’t be left on her own for very long and certainly couldn’t be alone overnight. They’re childhood sweethearts too and have been together over 60 years so I just don’t know how anyone would cope.
I’m trying to focus my thinking on the right here and now and praying something can be done to help improve his condition.

in money news, the vinted sales have been received and so money is on the way to my account. One more item sold last night too so that’s another £4.50 towards savings and another item cleared. I’ve already posted it this evening so it’s on the way.

I bought two gift cards today for two separate Christmas gifts and two smaller presents towards two other gifts whilst the shops were quiet. It means I don’t need to go near those shops in the business of pre Christmas shopping! It’s £40 put onto the cc but will be paid off on Monday and I’m glad to get those presents out of the way. I also picked up milk and 2 big boxes of eggs this morning as they were reduced and we get through loads of eggs. It was paid for with change from my purse so didn’t touch the money left in the bank.

DS has eaten at his Dad’s tonight but is back with me now, so haven’t had to cook this evening. I don’t feel like eating anything tonight now so am sat curled up with the heating and PJ’s on. DS is playing on his console with his school friends for a bit and I’m watching a home renovation show and trying to distract myself from my thoughts a bit. I hope everyone is warm and safe tonight xx

That is why my IHD does not have a budget set up.  Of course I am lucky & have some savings so if necessary I WILL use them.

    Thank you all x

DS wanted to get his hair cut this morning and then go to the gym so I’ve been the taxi today. DS pays for his hair himself out of his allowance and the gym is covered as I pay for a junior membership for him monthly. Whilst he was having his hair cut I popped into home bargains as we were running low on loo roll, so picked up one of their huge £8 packs which will last us a while. I also bought a few other bits we were low on and a couple of bags of favourite crisps for OH which I dropped off to him. Just about still have money left in the pot but it’s payday Monday now anyway.

We’re now home and staying out of the way of Bert who is blowing a gale and lashing rain down outside. The heating is on, I’m under the blanket on the sofa again and would be quite happy to stay here for the rest of the day and not move from the warmth. DS woke up tired this morning and hasn’t been in the greatest mood today, so I’m leaving him to chill out and play on his PlayStation for as long as he wants to today. I’m staying under my blanket. 🙂

Some joggers I ordered for DS for Christmas are far too large on him - I suspected they would be so I had him try a pair on with his eyes closed! 😂 I’ve ordered the smaller sizes today and will return the too big ones to the shop tomorrow for a refund. Whilst ordering the smaller ones I used a gift card I’ve had in my purse for a year or so which I thought was empty but kept meaning to double check. I so nearly threw it out!  Turns out there was just over £15 left on it so they’ve cost me £15 less this time.

Feeling really tired today again as I didn’t sleep well and was awake for a portion of the night again. I am struggling with neck pain at night which I think is from my pillows. I’ve bought two different pairs of new pillows recently but both still seem to give me neck ache at night, I just can’t find a comfy pillow and am fed up with spending money on pillows. Any recommendations anyone?! I like a soft pillow and not too high otherwise I get a sore neck. I’ve been having this problem for a couple of months now and it’s really starting to affect my sleep badly. :(

I've slept without a pillow for years until recently but I sleep on my back with pillows either side of my head to keep my shoulders warm.  It is the not sleeping well so reading in bed for long periods that is not helping me or my neck & shoulders
