It’s wet and dark here. That makes things worse. I find if you eat rubbish it makes you feel worse. It must be quite lonely working from home, although it has lots of benefits. Keep going your doing so well xx

Hope the weather brightened for you Mrs_Money_Penny. I totally agree about the eating rubbish and the effect it has on mood.
Yes, it does get very lonely and very boring but I mustn't grumble as it pays the bills and enables me to save a little bit, so for that I'm very grateful. Most days I don't see anyone other than DS so it does get me down sometimes.

This afternoon I've portioned and frozen 2 big packs of YS marinated chicken I picked up in Asda yesterday. I got 5 portions (for two of us, so 10 portions really) out of two packs which were reduced to £1.87 each, so a good buy.
£1.10 spent today on posting two birthday cards (in one envelope), one with £20 in, so I hope it actually gets to the recipient.

Just read your whole diary. Your ex is exactly like mine. Well done you’re doing so well. Money juggling is so hard but fantastic you’ve managed to save enough to book a holiday! Keep up your amazing work.

Oh my, that's good going Missy - reading the whole diary!
Thank you for your kind words and I'm so sorry you have a similar ex. It's tiring having to deal with it isn't it.
I really hope things have settled for you a little now and things are easier, you really deserve a bit of a break. xx

It's a sunny but breezy day here today so I'm going to get two loads of washing done and drying outside today. The first load is on. I waited until later in the day yesterday and did manage to get a few bits dry on the line outside, I'm determined not to use the tumble dryer unless I absolutely have to and definitely not until the Winter.

Yesterday wasn't the best day. A few things upset me and a clash with DS in the evening and words with OH saw me sat outside at the top of my garden having a cry. Sometimes everything just gets a bit much doesn't it. I was so happy and relieved that the evening ended on a positive with lots of laughs with DS.

Today I've listed two items on fleabay/vinted/FB in the hopes they'll sell. They're quite specific things so I'm not sure if they'll sell. but it's worth a go. If sold, they should make around £25. I've also decided to sell a large item and accessories that is worth around £450-£500 which I'm just not getting the use out of. I will compile it all later as a bundle and list it. Again, it may take a while to sell but at least it will be advertised.

I've listed the large item. It may take a while to gain any interest but at least it's out there now.

I filled the car up with diesel yesterday and it came in under budget by just over £10, so I've transferred that to the credit card and made the payment up to £28.51 to completely pay off DS's new clothes I put on it now. I feel better now that's cleared again.

CB should be paid on Monday and I'll see how I can spread those funds out between pots. I'm hoping I'll be able to allocate a little to the savings and/or mortgage, but a couple of categories are low at the moment so I may need to top those up.

Someone is apparently on their way to collect the large item and accessories/extras for £450. I say 'apparently' as it's a FB sale and I'm always a bit dubious/nervous about marketplace sales and who is going to turn up IF they actually do. She seemed keen and is coming from a fair distance so we will see. I will be really pleased with the money if it does happen, but I will be sad to see the items go.

I take it all back. A lovely lady collected the item and handed the cash over so I have £450 I need to put in the bank and distribute to the savings. I will be sending £101 to the mortgage though to get it down into the next £1000 bracket. :)

The money has now been paid into the bank and so £101 has been sent to the mortgage to get it down to £70,999  ;) and £351 sent to the EF which is now back up to £4300.65. Hopefully I'll get that back up to £5K again within the next 3 months.

OH and I picked up a magic bag last night which has left us with lots of doughnutty treats for DS, some sandwiches and pasta pots for OH's packed lunches. I may try and pick up a morris0ns one today for tomorrow as I'm running low on fruit and they usually come up trumps with that.

I sold a bundle of craft items on FB for £15 today. It’s cleared a good space in a cupboard and made me a bit of money. I also found a big bag of small change I’d forgotten about and so changed that in one of the coin counting machines today. There was £15.54 from that, so have combined the two and sent £30 to the savings. I also sent £12 to it a few days ago from the first vinted sale that cleared, I’m still awaiting another £10 which will also be sent to that pot when it hits my bank account.

The child benefit should be paid in tomorrow and will be much welcomed as the account is looking a little low. I’ve already allocated it to topping up the grocery and miscellaneous spends categories.

DS went to his Dad’s this morning for the night so I hoovered through the house when he’d gone and shrunk some duvets and blankets down in some vacuum storage bags and popped them away under the bed. It’s nice to get them out of the way. Another item from my wardrobe has gone in the charity bag and a quick sort out of a drawer in my ‘office’ room found a few bits for the bin. I may go and tackle the cupboard up there shortly.
I’ve held off doing washing today until the rain is supposed to clear. It’s sunny now so there’s a load in the machine, hopefully to dry on the line this afternoon/evening. I’ve emptied the bins and recycling too.

OH is busy today - again - and so I’m on my own again today. We hardly spend any quality time together at the moment due to this course he committed to and the amount of work involved. I am feeling less and less like a part of his life these days if I’m being honest but I’m trying to be supportive. I’m just leaving him to it now and getting on with my own days. I’m getting a lot more used to spending weekends on my own though, when DS isn’t here. I used to panic at the thought and never knew how to fill my days. I don’t have family here and the few friends I do have here are not friends I’d pop in on and are not free at weekends as they have families so I can get quite lonely. I am quite relieved that the thought of spending a weekend or evening on my own doesn’t fill me with panic now though. I am quite enjoying doing little jobs around the house, turning out cupboards, working in the garden etc or reading etc. I do wish I had that option of someone to call on or chat to, but I’m coping better with it these days. I have just called my parents and chatted to them but as I speak to them every day there is not always a lot to talk about!
I’m off to make myself a cup of tea for one and sit and read for half an hour, perhaps then I’ll tackle that cupboard…
