Thank you Mrs_Money_Penny x
Well, the £5k savings didn’t last long… this morning I booked a Disney trip for DS and I for his birthday next year. I previously said we wouldn’t be going anywhere next year but it was a good price and we really wanted to go. It’s all paid for up front, nothing on credit, so I’m not beating myself up. DS will have lovely memories and we now have something to look forward to.The savings are back down to £3711 but I start my full time position next week so it’ll soon be back up to £5K again. Life is for living, eh.

I made a mistake in my last post, the EF is actually at £3911.20, not £3711.20.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

Thank you enthusiasticsaver & Mrs_Money_Penny, we are really looking forward to it and it’s all paid for up front so I’m trying not to feel guilty about spending some money.£10.89 sent to the EF this morning to round it up to £3925. I’ll try and get it up to £4K again before payday but I would like to round the mortgage down a little to take it down into the next £1000 bracket too, so we shall see.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

There seems to be something else to pay for every day at the moment. Today it was icing and cake ingredients for a ‘Bake off’ style extravagant iced cake DS had to make for homework for school. I found icing in the sale in h0bbycraft as it was out of date the end of this month but still the ingredients for this bloody cake have cost me over £15. He’s not even doing home economics or whatever it’s called now, it was for some random subject which has nothing to do with baking! The school are taking the P at the moment.Yesterday it was clothes for DS as he will now only wear 2 of the t shirts he has in his drawer and there was so much anxiety and fuss from him yesterday over what to wear for a non uniform day today.
I’ve had to have words with him tonight about putting in more effort with his homework/schoolwork as he is getting a bit lax with things and I am constantly having to nag him. He’s a clever, intelligent kid yet seems like he just can’t be arsed a lot of the time. It’s so frustrating. We had a great week last week but this week is turning into one of those ‘is it Friday yet?’ weeks. I’m too tired to cope with any of this at the moment to be honest, I’ve actually been signed off work this week with exhaustion and a few other symptoms. The CT scan was fine though which is good news, I’ve now been referred for further blood and other tests. OH is still not in great health either so the worry and anxiety is quite high atm.I need to keep up with YNAB more than ever this month. I feel like money is running away from me and I am feeling a bit of anxiety about it. I will be better off next payday but I just need to get there first.Oh, I also need to replace my garden parasol as the wind took it at the weekend, despite it being closed and in a cast iron base, and smashed it to the ground, splitting the wood in several parts. It’s completely broken, I’m gutted. It was about 10 years old and had a few holes in the canopy that I kept meaning to patch up, but it was very large and did the job great as there is no shade in our garden which is a complete sun trap. Looking at prices online, the same size is around £70 at best.I’m going to have to wait until the end of the summer or look out for a sale as I refuse to pay that much. There’s always something to pay for isn’t there.

£10.14 made on a free spin promotion, so I’ve put it towards DS’s new clothes which I paid for on the CC. About £50 to make/find to clear that purchase and clear the card again.

£5 sent to the EF today to bring it up to £3930, £70 left to find to get it back up to £4K.I’ve sold something on vinted today so that will be another £12 towards one pot or the CC when I receive that money. I have a bundle of DS’s old clothes I need to list on there too to hopefully make a few extra £’s.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £49,869.55

Another £12.42 made from a free spins offer.
I’ll decide where to put it when it reaches the account (within 24 hours).
