Thank you Four_Seasons xx We’re in the middle of a week with them at the moment, it’s lovely to be home.

It’s payday today, thank goodness. I thought it would never come! I’ve earned a few hundred pounds more than last month due to being full time and also some overtime from last month being paid. I’m thankful for this as it’s allowed me to pay off my credit card again - I’d had to use it last month for a few things as money was so tight and it got to the point of being worried if I had enough in the account to cover petrol and groceries, so that was £208 cleared. I’ve also ‘paid back’ the savings pots I borrowed from this past month and then shuffled the usual monthly amounts to them plus £50 extra to the Christmas gifts pots to get it on track to my savings target for the year so far. There’s £700 in the car pot and £701.98 in the gifts pot (thanks to a little interest payment). I’ve also sent an extra £25 to DS’s clothing pot as I will need to buy a few more bits of school uniform before the new school year, including replacing the new tops that were ruined. :(
The EF is now up to £4636.36 so I’ll get it back up to £5K again within the next two months, hopefully.
My parents have very kindly given DS and I £100 towards our trip to London we’re going on soon, so I’ll use that to pre-book some attraction tickets after looking for the best deals.
I made a couple more sales on vinted before we came away and they’ve now all cleared in the bank account. They were mostly used to top up the bank account and the EF a little. I also finally took the bin bag full of donations to the charity shop last week. It has been under my desk for ages so I’m pleased to get the space back. I think that’s it for now, I’m off to get some sleep, I’ve been exhausted every day this week so far. Night all x

    Thank you both. xx
We are back now and I'm feeling exhausted but hoping a few early nights this week will help whilst DS is at his dad's. My parents are really struggling with their health problems and pain at the moment, it is very hard to leave and very upsetting to see them like it. :( I wish I could make things better.

I've updated YNAB this morning and need to be careful with money for a little while now as the school hols are already proving expensive. I've bought some new uniform for DS which came to around £65, he still needs a new school bag which will probably be around £25.
DS and I are away for a few days next week - I need to buy attraction tickets this week too. Hotel and transport are paid for so it's just food, drink and fun to pay for whilst we're there.

I've listed two more items on FB this morning and two more are being collected later (if they turn up) which should bring in £15 and clear a little bit more stuff. DS has an item ending on ebay today which will make him around £50-£75 for spending money whilst we're away. I had to relist it last week due to a non-paying buyer.

The washing is in the machine today as I had loads to catch up on but the weather is awful all week so I'll have to use the dryer today. Frustrating as it's the middle of summer, but looks like our summer may be over with already. :(

It looks like my savings pot may take a huge blow soon too. Firstly, it appears the DPC has failed in the older part of my house and the new-last-year carpet is going mouldy as there must be moisture seeping up from the floor. I've asked the nice builder I know to come and look at it for me but it's obviously not going to be cheap.
Also, my Dad's mechanic friend did some work on my car whilst I was staying at my parents and he's warned of several imminent costly issues that need addressing. The car is 9 years old so will probably cost more to fix than it's worth. I'm so fed up, it seems every time I manage to build a little bit of money up it gets wiped out and then some. As it stands, it's likely I'll have to borrow money to fix both the car and the house. No idea how yet, I'm guessing by extending the mortgage. My life really is two steps forward, ten steps back. :(

Wow, London attraction tickets are expensive! I've booked tickets for two attractions and one show for DS and I and not had much change out of £150. I've also reserved free museum tickets and looked into a few other free things I think he'd be interested in. I just need to look at underground/travelcard type tickets now and see how I go about that - it's been years since I was last there.

The two FB items were collected so that's £15 more in my purse. The washing is dry and there's another load in the machine. The sun's come out but I'm not risking trying to dry the washing, it's looking thundery and grey out.

I'm feeling quite fed up with the world today so have decided to run a hot bath when I've finished work and sit and read my book in there for an hour. I've been wanting a soak for a few days now and not had time, so going to make the most of it, hopefully some troubles will soak away too. :)

Another FB sale this morning = an extra £10 in my purse. :) I'm debating whether to pay the £25 I now have in there into the bank or to keep some cash on me.
DS's item sold on ebay last night and should make him just under £70 after postage which he'll be chuffed about. The fees on ebay are astronomical now though - they've taken almost £12 on an item which sold for £85 inc postage. I do try to stick to vinted these days but some things can't be sold on there.
