Do you not get offered the 'max £1 fee' offers from ebay?  It runs from Friday till Monday and I usually get the offer every 4 weeks, so keep anything expensive till then.  X

To be honest Chrystal, I don't really use ebay much now so haven't noticed. I did have an offer a while back but it expired and didn't seem to get another one. Perhaps they don't make enough money out of me! ;)

I've just had a free fix of the toilet which was constantly dripping water into the cistern, courtesy of the water board. :) They're doing a 'free fix' to save water so I am grateful I didn't have to pay a plumber. He confirmed what I thought though - that the bathroom hasn't really been installed in the best manner - so I need to keep an eye on a few things in case they start leaking.

Thank you MissyMoo & Four_Seasons, I’m ok. DS and I have been on our adventures for a few days this week - we had such a lovely time, DS didn’t want to leave. I paid for the train travel and hotel several months ago but the food and attractions tickets cost a small fortune so the rest of this month needs to be lean on the bank account. I did put money aside for it and my lovely sister sent us some money to treat ourselves so we haven’t gone over budget, I was just hoping everything wouldn’t cost quite as much as it did but then it was central London. I don’t regret a penny of it though as we made lovely memories.

We picked up a few groceries when we got back which I’m now making last the rest of the week. DS is with his Dad next week so I will be eating from the freezer and the cupboards to stretch the budget. We are then at my parents house again for another week so won’t need to buy many groceries there either.
DS has been out with friends for two consecutive days since we got back and £15.50 was spent on a birthday present for his friend. I have also ordered some clothes for myself as packing for our trip really showed me how very few clothes I have now and how I desperately need to bin a few tops I wear regularly.
As I was typing that last line the parcel of clothes was just delivered, how strange!
As I was saying, my clothing situation is dire with 99% of my clothes being bought from charity shops the past few years, but I’m realising it’s a bit of a false economy as lots of items are starting to look very worn very quickly. I think I need to be a bit pickier about what I pick up from charity shops in future.
Anyway, the clothes have arrived, so off to try them on!

Sounds as though your break was fabulous, and, as you say, worth every penny for wonderful memories.

I totally get where you're coming from re the clothes, as I've just recently been doing the same thing!  Had lots of parcels delivered and really pleased with most of them.  A few need to be returned, but I'm pretty useless at doing that!  Hoping you're really pleased with yours. (((hugs))) XX

Thank you for your lovely replies both, unfortunately most of the clothes are going back as they didn’t look great, but pleased that this time everything was too big rather than too small. I am keeping one pair of jeans and a fabulous pair of Joe Browns canvas shoes which I may try and upload a photo of later, I LOVE them! The returns parcel is wrapped and ready to drop off tomorrow so I get a refund ASAP.
