I'm so sorry I haven't been contributing, and I haven't been able to catch up either. I don't mind things being busy or taking up so much time but my mind has been on other things when I've had down time.Sad news, inevitable but nonetheless sad. Layla had been coping really, really well with her illness, but on Monday she was very tired. I hoped that it was because we'd finally got her tummy settled and it was just relief from a bout that had lasted a couple of weeks on and off, but I wasn't being realistic. I knew yesterday morning that if she wouldn't eat sliced turkey or beef that I wouldn't be able to get any pain relief into her, and that was very bad news indeed. We tried everything and let her just sleep for several hours and she seemed calm enough, but by lunchtime I knew. I made the phone call and we took her in at 4.45. She absolutely loved having her harness put on again, she wagged her tail all the way down the path to the car, she was excited about going for a car ride and pleased to be at a vet's surgery because everyone was always so kind to her at every vet's surgery we'd taken her to. The vet fed her an entire tube of liver paste which under different or normal circumstances would have been stupid, but it left her with a final incredible happy few minutes. We were both cuddling her and she went to sleep very easily because it was time. We'll be fine, but at the moment we're a bit heart-broken.Better is good enough.10

In the past two weeks I have done the daily lists and the bathroom was already looking pretty good, so it didn’t take much this morning. I’m going to treat myself to a cinema trip this afternoon.9 -
