This is certainly turning into a fascinating thread.  It just shows to users on the fringe in rural areas you may or may not get all the services offered by a particular supplier.  If like us you can only physically get a signal on one band you might not get the full service offered or even none at all.

There is a LOT more to it in fringe areas than look at a suppliers coverage map.

When wifi calling becomes available, how will the phone / SIM know?  I am thinking I will have to take my "spare" RWG phone out with me just so it gets a signal from a real mast to update it and tell it wifi calling is enabled?

On my s20 5g,in mobile settings 4g calling (wifi calling) is set to on automaticly ,so the sim must have been updated by them ready for when it goes live

Surely 4G calling and wi-fi calling aren't the same thing? 4G calling is via the mobile phone network and wi-fi calling is via - would you believe it - wi-fi, ie via your home broadband rather than the mobile network?!

    Your correct. My mistake.
I turned the setting off on my three sim which has always had wifi calling from when i got it in 2017.
I put phone in airplane mode, then switched my home wifi back on ,and the three sim conected to wifi calling right away

May sound a very stupid Q - But how do you know which bands are available to your phone? Just put an RWG SIM in a "new" Android phone,a refurbished Nokia X10 but can't see anything in the settings to show what band is being used. I'm getting 5G out and about but the signal indoors is only just usable for calls on 2G/3G
