    Hi Rombomb

Did you find the Fixed tariff info on line somewhere? I'm still trying to get written confirmation of the Fixed till 2011 prices I was quoted on the phone for Economy 7 in Scottish Power region.

No. When I got my letter there was a brochure with a number to call, and provide the reference code:

    0800 975 4793 quoting FOO2R (Fixed 2011 tarriff)

Thanks. This was the number I phoned and which quoted me rates for the fixed tariff that were lower than the increased rates in my letter. As I said I've e-mailed asking for confirmation of the quoted rates, but still no reply.
  • Hi all, The npower prices page is now up and running. However make sure you are sitting down with a stiff drink!

Thanks. I've been straight on to the Npower site. You were right about the stiff drink.

A few days ago I phoned and was quoted the rates for my area for the new Fixed until 2011 rate, but the rates shown on the website are much higher than this - in fact the 'additional day rate' is 54% higher.

Because I've been happy with Npower customer service (as compared to previous British Gas and Powergen) I would have paid slightly more to stay with them, but not at these prices. I'll have to wait until Martin gives the green switch light.

Martin's probably too busy making his TV programmes and stuff to have got round to it!

But seriously, the more Npower customers switch ~now~, the clearer the message will be to all the other suppliers that massive price hikes in the middle of winter will have ~their~ customers voting with their feet.

I switched to NPower in ovember on their Sign Online 8 (SOL8) online only tarrif.

I've had my letter this morning saying that my electricity isn't going up at all - it is the same price I agreed to when I switched in November.

So I'm in the odd position of having quite cheap electricity, in the East Midlands, whilst others are being charged 15%-30% more on other tarrifs.

    Bizarre!.
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.
  • Prices on npower website are always for if you joined now e.g. SOL9. But what about us oldies. I'm gas SOL4, elec SOL8 - does anyone know if there is any way to view these prices online?
btw rang them a few days ago, they said my elec not aftected by latest rise because it's SOL8, but my SOL4 gas will increase.
I noticed my gas price per unit very high and woman on phone looked into it and said I'd been charged standard prices by mistake instead of SOL4. My bills all say SOL4 at the top. How could they get the price wrong? Am v disappointed. They said will backdate it and send me new bill. Will have to spend ages checking it when it arrives and how can I do that properly when I don't know the history of SOL4 prices over last year.

Could some kind soul post the ex Vat pre-increase prices for Npower Standard/Juice Tariff in the Seeboard Region, as from memory I think the price of 1st Tier Electricity has actually gone down!!!

    Thanks in advance

No way to find out on-line. Found these out from www.theenergyhelpline.com

SOL 4 prices for Leicester are now:

    Gas
    Tier1:5.606
    Tier2: 2.433

    Electricity:
    Tier1: 16.674
    Tier2:8.064

I've still had nothing in writing from Npower about the new rates and my bill is 2 weeks overdue.

Looking at the rates online, as a very low user I'd be better off switching to SOL 9 for the next 6 months when my discount is due then ditching them, but it seems Npower prevent anyone doing this. Does anyone know the latest on trying to switch tariffs? Even if you can do it, does the £80 discount clock then set to zero? Can we trust Npower not to quietly ditch the discount fairly soon? - without telling anyone, of course!
