I do remember getting a leaflet that seemed to cover every account and area that Scottish Power served; which made it a bit like one of those instruction sheets written in 20 different languages, possibly deliberately, like the 4 pages of terms and conditions you get with a credit card:rolleyes:.
Can anyone tell me or better point me at an explanation of what this deal actually offers if anything in the face of rising prices.
Harry.
Should I "over read" the meter now;) Only joking of course.....................
The price fall tariff will not be affected by the price rises as it is capped until November.
It is still available for those wanting to portect themselves against price rises and wait it out. Although Martin suggests its not he time to switch, if Scottish powers price fall tariff comes up at around the same price as you are paying at the moment then it makes sense to get on it and wait it out til the market evens up.
I can imagine Scottish power withdrawing the price fall tariff soon though so those wanting to get on it should do so ASAPMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Karen if you don't already have a thermometer in the babies bedroom then it might be worth getting one because I'm always amazed at how cold our baby's room is thinking I should turn his radiator on, but when I check the thermometer it's perfect at 18 degrees.0

We are with SP and looked at the capped tariff. We are online 4 something. The prices quoted were still about 15-20% higher than we are on so we will stick I thinkThe measure of love is love without measure0

Hi Karen,
We fitted a room thermostat, which wasn't expensive or complicated.
It emasn that we can keep the heating permanentlly ON but set the termperatures for different time.
We have 4 periods per day on ours - morning, day, evening and night.
We set it to 16 degrees at night.
In our house it hardly ever comes on, but if there was a very cold night then it would at least keep the house to a minumum temperature.
Of course if your house has some insulation type problems then it's going to make it more expensive.
I'm just saying that you can keep it on all the time, but at a much lower temperature during the night.
We've got that too, and you'd be amazed at how cool 16 degrees feels. And there's nothing wrong with keeping your house at 18 degrees - you'll get used to it in no time and save lots on fuel.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

Errrm, like devalue the pound against the euro and the rouble, then tell them pesky foreigners to reduce their prices to cater for the MickleyMouse eCon..?
More interest rate cuts in the pipeline to keep the "boom" going past the next election, guess where import prices may go... (at least McBroon gets his for free, so nothing to sort out really).
Lets hope there are no more cuts and in fact lets hope it increases - Who would it help to cut rates?0 -
Is it me or do the energy companies always seem to price hike in the winter when fuel bills are more expensive due to extra usage anyway??[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

I see comments about regional variations in the Npower price rises - I'm in the East Midlands & I hear that the rises here will be 24% for Gas & 27% for electricity due to transport costs - the Npower website is not showing any details at present for the regional costs. Help0

I can tell you that Npower will still be one of the cheapest as has been pointed out in more than one articles, Npower is one of the cheapest in the Country now Npower has increased its prices all the others will do so to because (and it's very simple why) all the Gas and all the Electricity come from the same place and if it goes up for one it goes up for all and the best way to prove this is if Npower has 7.4 million customers and Southern has 1.5 million customers then its pretty clear that Southern will be increasing their prices too and its the same with all the other energy suppliers.
It really depends where you are, npower are far from competitive in the West Midlands and why anyone here would choose to buy electricity from them is beyond me.
I have no gas and I heat by storage heaters on economy 7. I am currently with British Gas on their original Click Energy 1 tariff, which based on my exact usage costs just over £500 per year. With npower, the same usage on their cheapest tariff would have cost me £699 and now after the price increase would cost me £752.
On all the comparisons I have done for family and colleagues, npower is always one of the most expensive in this area. For quite some time British Gas Click Energy 4 and Southern's Price Fix 2008 have been the cheapest tariff's here.0
