  • Hello everyone

Sorry for just dropping out of the conversation. I became ill and incapacitated (related to my medical condition). I appreciate all the help you have given me.

So, I received a claim form from the county court dated the 20th of February, giving me 14 days to respond.

Unfortunately, I could not get any tasks/emails/phone calls done. I am now at a loss for what to do. I will read the document thoroughly, as I thought I would ask for advice immediately.

    Regards

    Kitty

Hi Kitty, no worries, you can use our template defence.

Stop reading the paperwork, you are not filling paperwork in at all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hello, again, coupon-mad.

Thank you so much for your reply. I can't wait to get this dealt with! The amount of the claim has gone up by £247!
I have looked on the forum's first page - Is this the template you mean?

Is 20th February the issue date of the claim form and have you completed the AOS yet? If not, do that using the instructions in the NEWBIE sticky - there is a walk through and this will give you the maximum time to finalise your defence.
  • Hi there Boat_to_Bolivia. Thank you for the confirmation.

    Hi Le_Kirk

    the 20th of Febuary is the date of the claim form from the County Court business centre. I have not completed the AOS so I will get on that. Can I confirm that it is this form that I have to fill in please;

Thank you both for the replies to my questions.

@KeithP will be along soon to give you some important information about your claim date.

In the meantime, there is a section in the NEWBIES thread about submitting your AoS.
  • Thank you Boat_to_Bolivia

AoS is done! Thank you for being so helpful.

20th of February is the date of the claim form from the County Court business centre. I have not completed the AOS so I will get on that.

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th February, you have until Monday 13th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 27th March 2023 to file your Defence.
That's nearly four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.
  • Thank you KeithP

You have all been so helpful. I can't thank you all enough. If I run into any problems I may post again just for sake of clarity.

    Kind Regards to Everyone.
