I finally changed my battery to TOU yesterday as it was about to run out today, disastrous weather here.
Should make back that initial charge outlay when we get a bit of sun touch. Very strange feeling moving from the original set up.

I always charge as much as possible in the off peak period, you get more for whatever you export, and for those bad days you always have a full battery. It was so bad here that it took until 15:56 yesterday until my battery was full, even though it was 95% at 5am.

Yes, its very odd, you install solar intending not to use any grid power, now I import around 14 kWh every morning, it just feels so wrong, but makes perfect sense.

I waited for an extra 2 weeks (in total 28 days) then ‘phoned Octopus’s help line. They hadn’t had the notification on the export MPAN back from the DNO but could interrogate an national register and by the end of that week my export was being paid for. Be nice and they’ll do their best as I understand there are a fair number of processes that have to be taken successfully and in order otherwise the process just stops! Way too many incompatible systems!

It's been just over a fortnight since Octopus emailed me to say that they've applied for the export MPAN. Chasing them yesterday they advised that the DNO can take a (further?) couple of weeks to reply. Just over the last week alone I've had 152.3 kWhrs spare, 23.3 of which has been in the peak period. That's over £37 which is a tad annoying when Octopus keeps reminding me what my direct debit payment is. So frustrating....

Try contacting your DNO yourself to see if the MPAN has been issued.

Posters in other threads (and on a FB forum) have managed to get the MPAN direct from their DNO and passed the details to Octopus to speed things up. I'm guessing it helps get your application to the top of the (quite large at the moment?) pile.

It's quoted in the electricity section of an energy bill. So you're suggesting that calling Octopus and giving them this number will speed up the export migration? I'm convinced that I gave them my MPAN during the application process, so is this delay due to Octopus asking the DNO to confirm customer supplied infomation?
