Yes, guess I must be boring too. One of my supposed 'friends' and I were supposed to be meeting tomorrow night to swap cards and a present (ten pounds maximum spend). She was in the same boat as me until about 6 months ago when she inherited a lot of money and she had the ability to make her debt (a lot more than mine) disappear over night. I was well chuffed for her but since then she's found friends that always want to go out for expensive meals and drinks (not my idea of fun, we were going to meet at her house for a coffee and I was going to take over homemade cake). So she's conveniently forgot we're meeting tomorrow night and says she's made other plans (after she spoke to me) to go for a meal that she's not willing to cancel (sorry I'm angry at the moment). I was there for this girl when she was at her lowest and helped her with her budget and told her about this site and helped her trim her SOA when she needed to find extra cash. So to sum it up I guess I must be boring as I'm still paying off my debt, doing opinion surveys etc and she'd rather be with new friends that splash there cash. Sorry rant over, guess I've found out what a real friend is.

P.S. Her present will be going back in my present drawer.

Hello hon, not seen you around in a while, what a horrible person of her to drop a friend so quickly, I understand that you are angry. SHe will blow all her money and end up right back there again, but this time she won't have anyone to help her.

have a dodgy hug hon and a:beer: on me, and    to supposed friendy.

unixgirluk she's obviously not a real friend and it's better that you've found that out now. The way she's going she'll only run her debts up again and then she'll come running back to you, don't let her!
Trying to sort my life out, and I'm going to get there!

I am probably very boring, but luckily OH is in the same position and I have been able to help my Best Friend manage her OD.... Which makes me interesting and fabulous to the people that matter.

Everyone else on the planet thinks I'm insane and can't believe I check my online banking daily!

Thanks Pania, my OH is going into hospital soon and there's been big changes at my work. Sorry not been about, must catch up on your diary. As for my "pal", yes she'll probably realise too late but its just annoying as she's trying to turn it on me saying I'm always busy (think hospital is a reasonable excuse don't you?) but I had arranged a date to meet up but she's bumped me for a posh expensive night out. Oh well. Don't need friends like her! :o

Thanks gems, sorry for my rant. Just annoying . Her present will be put back in the present drawer and go to someone at some point who actually deserves it!!!!!

I have one like that... You are much better off without them and as I had no one else who would like pink fluffy fairy lights I have a very nice lighting effect at home now!

You're right, unixgirl, you don't need friends like her. Look at the friendships on here made in adversity!

On another tack - the Dr Who talk up above made me realise what another famous icon said (kind of) about money: Live Long And Prosper - surely Mr Spock was an early member of mse?

Aw, now I feel bad for your friend, even if she is being completely rubbish. Just tell her she's rubbish, give her the present anyway, and perhaps you can still be friends?
