Are YOU boring?

  • I do feel boring lately. I've been working hard this week to pay off debts (paid off my last one yesterday!) and have cut down on going out. I suffer from terrible hangovers so have stopped getting drunk too.

I do feel dull leaving a night out early to get the last train home rather than staying out and getting a taxi, but I doubt I am missing much!

I wouldn't give my cupcake to a 3 armed monster either hbl, what was the outcome of the incident?

Well since the cupcake was so huge, I realised I was just being greedy, and I shared it with the three armed monster and now we're pretty firm mates. His name is Steve.

    YES,I'm boring,:rotfl:

I think family and friends are fed up with the way I bargain hunt, they show no interest in saving money. So I have decided I am not going to try and save them money,I will let them "spend spend spend "I just wish they would stop moaning how skint they are.My sister posted our christmas presents this week and when I saw how much they cost to post(£45.00)  I nearly fainted,I sent our parcel with a courier for £7.20 (quidco cashback):D my parcel weighed 17kg and was three times the size of my sisters,I did suggest a courier to my sister but she couldnt be bothered to go upstairs to use the computer.

Frosty my sister can't be bothered using cashback sites when she buys online, but she still wants the £4 I got from topcashback when I set up her online account for the lottery! Pure laziness

Yes, guess I must be boring too. One of my supposed 'friends' and I were supposed to be meeting tomorrow night to swap cards and a present (ten pounds maximum spend). She was in the same boat as me until about 6 months ago when she inherited a lot of money and she had the ability to make her debt (a lot more than mine) disappear over night. I was well chuffed for her but since then she's found friends that always want to go out for expensive meals and drinks (not my idea of fun, we were going to meet at her house for a coffee and I was going to take over homemade cake). So she's conveniently forgot we're meeting tomorrow night and says she's made other plans (after she spoke to me) to go for a meal that she's not willing to cancel (sorry I'm angry at the moment). I was there for this girl when she was at her lowest and helped her with her budget and told her about this site and helped her trim her SOA when she needed to find extra cash. So to sum it up I guess I must be boring as I'm still paying off my debt, doing opinion surveys etc and she'd rather be with new friends that splash there cash. Sorry rant over, guess I've found out what a real friend is.

P.S. Her present will be going back in my present drawer.

  • I am definately boring, and proud to be so! I intend to be totally debt free by the end of next year, if not sooner, and being boring, and on this site has helped me to achieve that.

I started on this journey on my own (MiL thinks the eBaying is great, but hasn't got round to doing it herself just yet), but OH is slowly coming round to my way of thinking.... and I mean SLOWLY!!! He would definately say I am obsessed with money, and I wouldn't disagree :D

    Long live the boring people!

People don't want to hear it. Mostly, I find, people who don't HAVE to think about it, which is annoying as they are unable to see things from the perspective of others.

I don't have to think about money, but as I've lived a frugal life, I now can't stop it. Getting value for every penny is second nature. "You can only spend it once" I say - and I am told "you can earn more". Which isn't always true, especially if you're getting on a bit now.

    Every penny DOES count.

It's not boring. It's financially astute -and- not blinkered by the media and marketing hype.

Long live frugality .... because when the chips are down, we're the only ones who have PAID for our chips!
