Are YOU boring?

Because apparently I am.

Yesterday my supposed freind said to me, dont you get bored talking about money all the time, cosntantly thinking about it.
She says that the student years are meant to be the freedom years and you run up the debt and its only a couple of quid that goes out after.
I basically replied saying well it will be me that will be laughng in a few years.

Do you guys ever feel your on this DFW trip by yourself, I sad as it may seem get really excited about bargains, get annoyed at the cost of some things, go mad at myself if Ive spent outside my limit.

I just wish I had family and friends to support me, everyone thinks Im cheap or scamming by that I mean they always think Im trying to get one over on them by selling them stuff Im not Im just another average joe trying to make a bit more money. They think my ebayness is weird.

Ive always been money consicous (sp) alwyas had it drummed into me, I cant help that some people dont have to struggle for their money and actually shock horror get everything paid for them.

    Yeah, I'm pretty dull.

Oh you mean about money? Stuck record perhaps, but it's less anti-social than smoking. Cheaper too.

My ex boyfriend went on at me for talking about money all the time (he was the one with the money problems and still has them!) but it worried me. Now I'm looking forward to xmas and am thinking of ordering myself some new clothes for xmas eve just because that stress has gone (i dumped him which meant i have more money!)

    :heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:
  • If having the ability to pay off £18k worth of debt in 10 months is boring - so be it!

I would rather be debt free and boring than up to my neck in debt and being chased for payments by DCAs.

So this year, when I paid for my wedding without getting into debt, I could sit there on the beach on my honeymoon with my husband without a care in the world!

Boring, perhaps, but I know where I would rather be!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Yep Im boring my hubby tells me all the time that I never stop talking about money (cos we have none normally due to him over spending) and I get really excited when Ive managed to make overpayments to some of my debts. I just wish he could see this site and it might make him more boring!!! (if you know what I mean) lol

I shut up a bit about money nowadays - but yes, I feel very boring when I go on about it. I feel bored too, possibly I've cut down on too much, tho I think I'm just coming out of that.

    Good idea for a thread!

Do it! Mine didn't like paying his bills, he prefered to drink his money instead then I'd pay his bills for him as I wanted us to have a house, family etc and worried about his credit rating. He owes me almost £3000 now (£1500 on a credit card in my name) but i'm sensible enough with money to be able to handle this as I doubt i'll get it back!

I'm terrified of getting a girlfriend now because of how much it might cost me!

My last gf was quite receptive to my money rants being in much the same position as me, but what if the next one is a bubble headed gold-digger?! I've got nothing in my wallet...
