Morning all (just
). I've been struggling with a lot of back pain these last few days but the house is largely in a presentable state. Freezers are sorted through and a big stock up shop from Mr S is coming tomorrow night so I can spend Thursday and Friday (hopefully, pain allowing - must be sensible) meal prepping.
We went to costco yesterday and bought 2.5kg of red onions, not remembering that I'd put 1.5kgs of red onions on our Mr S order (for some reason our village T*sco never has red onions in any more - we don't really like white in this house!). I'm thinking one bag can be chopped up/diced and frozen but would I need to blanch them or something first? Or just go ahead and chop away? I'm planning to do some potatoes that can be roasted from the freezer too (those I will blanch) and perhaps some peppers if I can be bothered. Trying to think of ways to make cooking with a newborn a little easier for those nights when I do want to cook. Personally I find cooking really relaxing and I have beautiful dreams of cooking whilst my OH plays/holds baby so he can bond and I can get some decent food
Bed is made and I've showered as well as had breakfast. Not too bad for a clunky pregnant lady XD I have absolutely no idea how people manage to stay at work until 37 weeksI'm 35+3 now and I'm struggling to do the basics!
On the list today -

Start back bedroom washing mountain that has appeared again. It never ends that bloody thing
Walk round to Mr T in the sunshine for some fresh air - but not too far, I think that was the issue yesterday, I went quite far on Sunday.

Got to work to find a letter addressed to me with my work address instead of my home address. So log on to Government Gateway to change them but I can't do that because the date I moved there predates my last change of address (obviously) so now I'm on hold...
DW emptied, rubbish and recycling out. Chemo deferred. Still not got the drug. However now I'm angry at HMRC so at least I'm not upset about the chemo.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Onions.. chop and freeze.. potatoes par boil.. roll in flour and freeze on a flat tray so they don't stick to one another.. then oil and roast.. do not defrost!
I was back to doing dinner straight on getting home from having my lot.. baby in the sling or chair.. OH was at work. Twinkle hated OH she wouldn't even look at him for months she very much was mine and mine alone. Pixie liked me best too.. Squeak was the total opposite.. she didn't even like feeding because I did it.
I wiped a worktop and fed the girls and spent an hour on the phone to the clowns at CMS who can't get anything right.. honestly.. 2 years on I may have found someone who sounds like they know what I am on about.. idiots!
Next I need to ring B00ts to chase Boogs insulin which runs out today .. they're 24 in 2.5 weeks.. yet here I am!
I need to do a click and collect order.. I can't be bothered to go shopping.. it's all peopley.
Then I have a few bills to payLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Got to the bottom of the issue.
Have named a cockroach in Dartmoor Zoo. You're supposed to name them after an ex - I named mine after a certain ex PM.

Well done on the ironing, Jazee
I've got 10 pillowcases to iron this evening.
K has been here helping me this morning and, apart from the kitchen floor, everything is clean and tidy. In return I have mended her DD's coat - which was a swine to do, as it is that soft reflective plastic material with a woven cotton backing, so I didn't dare make any more holes in it when sewing up an unravelled armhole seam.
DH took himself off to SW saying that he was going to walk to the bus stop and catch the bus, then another short walk to the meeting - so at least he has had some exercise today. Lunch was ready for when he finally got home, having walked all the way both ways (he just missed the half-hourly bus).
In between all this, I have already done 4 loads of washing and DH has found 4 more for me to do. He does know how to switch the WM on
Rosie barked at K when she arrived and again when the postlady rang the door bell, but is now fast asleep under the piano stool. The dog walker is coming for her at 3.30, so I don't have to walk her today. Instead, this afternoon I am taking a friend out for coffee at the nice GC which grows lots of hellebores. DH and I will be going out somewhere for the day on Thursday.

@kazwookie thanks, think that's definitely the way forward!
@pigpen it was all plain sailing until about 32.5 weeks for me... then the tiredness came back in full force, and the aches just magnified. As it's my first baby I'm convinced every bit of back pain is early labourand utterly convinced it's going to come within 10 minutes of it starting
I suspect those who have had children are laughing a little at that and I probably will do once I've actually had the baby! It's crazy how different pregnancies can go. My worst nightmare at the moment is that I'll go into labour at about 10am on the Thursday/Friday before my due date as I live next to a very busy racecourse which has it's biggest event of the year on those days and it clogs up our village - you literally cannot get in or out of here in certain time windows that week as they shut all three roads that lead up to us. I can get to the hospital by going the back route but it's about 25 minutes longer and also gets very busy. What will be will be!
Dishwasher done, washing mountain all put away, my work uniform and some other bits of summer clothing that I know I won't fit into this year even with the best diet and exercise program now in a pile ready for storage until next year. Washing out on the line is probably ready to come in but it's so glorious here it feels pointless rushing it back. I've also had a little sort through of the back bedroom and when OH is home I'll ask him to get the baby clothes we stored away down so I can start going through them and washing what we need to/getting things ready and out for baby.
@ionafan I loveeeee hellebores, don't have any of my own unfortunately but they're such a lovely Spring flower!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January7 -

Extras done include repairing a hole in DHs jacket, some more work on my knitted blanket, sorted all my fabric and wool, went to an exercise class and went for dog walk. Oh, and polished pictures on walls as per list.
