    Hi @MalMonroe ...
I don't think it was @Sterlingtimes who was involved in some offensive posts at least one of which appears to have been deleted ... I didn't see them and picked up the thread later.
Thank you. I did not use that language, but I saw it in another posting.

I think it is reasonable to discuss money-saving issues on a Money Saving forum (and here for the older age groups).

    To MalMonroe ...

I highly regard journalists who use good authoritative sources when producing news. They will have to work in the new media world and face challenges. Young journalists are grasping the nettle: look about for the rising star, Tom Harwood, at GB News.

If you have a computer/laptop running windows, then you can click on free articles from various sources, including newspapers on the Microsoft start page that comes up when you open a new tab in explorer/edge.

Unfortunately the biggest contributor is the Daily Express, with a weekly diet of ' Blizzards on the way' ' Pension shocks' ' Starmer eats babies'  etc

Thank you. Yes, announced as Deputy Political Editor on Question Time last night. I imagine he was being poached and offered this as a retention offer. Tom dominated Question Time. This answers the previous poster's concern about young people having opportunities in journalism.

The Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph paper online. The latest news updte and newsletters. I don’t think it is much of a read.
  • Just rang to cancel Telegraph having been quoted £279 for the year from £59!

Then as I asked to cancel offered £49 - I said no again was cut to £29 In desperation.

I would have reconsidered at the same price as last year but why play these games. Any how I told them the moral of charging more than 4x is immoral in the current times.

I feel for those where it auto renews and they only realise it when they check their statement. Sure they send an email to tell you but these days it's easy miss an email in a busy inbox.
  • Update - the app now offers access for £19. Unbelievable....

That's quite a saving from the initial £279 on auto renewal!

Thank you for the early warning. I never know when auto-renews will kick in. I paid £189 this February. £279 is just impossible. I wonder whether the auto-renew can be disabled.

I'm not a Telegraph suscriber but thanks for bumping this thread - it's reminded me that I have a streaming service on monthly billing that I need to cancel! (I was previously paying annually but switched to monthly when I was umm-ing and err-ing over whether to keep it or not.)

Thank you, QuizB. These auto-renewals are designed to be very difficult to amend. Kaspersky's method is notably highly irregular.

Anyway, I have just telephoned The Telegraph. They refused to remove my bank account details "in case anything is owing or any refund to be made".  However, after some conversation, they agreed to set my account to auto-terminate at the end of my annual subscription period. The forward subscription would be a few pennies less than £300.
