I earned more than £3 cashback in March but have had no text. Has anyone had a text confirmation of cashback for March?

It says it will text when it has paid into your account. That's not until 6 weeks after the end of the month so it will be a while yet.

    yes - you are correct.
Can you view your cashback before the 6 weeks after the end of the month in which you earn cashback?

    Another great question for Nationwide.

Has anyone been able to view the cashback? All I can view in my statements are the supermarket name, date and amount. What am i missing?

Has anyone asked Nationwide and also asked whether a particular outlet qualifies?

They gave a fairly comprehensive list of which stores were included on their website. I linked to it earlier, but don't have time to find it again just now.

If it isn't listed I'd assume you wont get it. If you do - then happy days.......

I wonder if it's possible to pay for clothing at the food hall tills?
Yes it is but anything more than a pack of socks will generate a serious outbreak of tutting and eye-rolling from the queue behind you.
Maybe now M&S seem to have introduced so many self service tills, especially in the clothing sections, the tutting will stop.  Friend managed to get home the other day with a jumper that had a tag on, it did not sound as she left the store or flag up “assistance needed” at self service till, so we had to go back next day to get the thing removed. Of course it did set off the alarm when we walked back in the store. Another person was having the same problem. I do all of my food shopping in M&S, so would easily meet the spend per month if NW had them on the list.

Even though M&S is not on the list I believe you will earn NW cashback if the transaction is classed as Grocery & Supermarkets.

Do you have a card - like Barclaycard - that shows the Merchant Category Code or description in its app? If so you could do a small test transaction - or perhaps examine your previous transactions at your preferred M&S store.

Or just do your usual shopping in M&S, paying with your NW card and be pleasantly surprised when your cashback arrives.

Nationwide's list is neither comprehensive nor definitive.

If you're on topcashback, you can get 4.75% cashback at M&S by buying a gift card through topgiftcards. And you'll get the cashback in a couple of days rather than having to wait at least 6 weeks.

So far, I have used my NW Visa Debit Card at a Tesco Express and Morrisons.

Today I have used the M&S Scan & Shop app and paid for items, from the food hall, via Apple Pay in-app. This appears as “M&S Outlet” in Apple Wallet.

Having used the M&S app previously, with my Halifax Visa Debit Card, it showed on my Halifax bank statement as M&S Scan & Shop and categorised as Grocery Stores, Supermarkets (see screenshot below). Whether Nationwide categorise M&S purchases as a grocery store/supermarket remains to be seen.

Hopefully I will receive a text message from Nationwide advising me on the cashback earned to date as I have an Asda groceries order being delivered tomorrow for approximately £75 - Asda claim the full amount the day before delivery (initially shown as pending) and any items missing on the day get credited back to your debit card 3-5 days later.

HALIFAX VISA DEBIT CARD TRANSACTION AT M&S FOOD HALL, VIA THE M&S SCAN & SHOP APP:

Do Nationwide send messages confirming cashback?
It appears when they make a payment and have you mobile number they let you no within 6 weeks after the end of month
  • A notification banner showed up in my Nationwide app this morning which shows the dates the cashback will be credited, which are as per the post by @Descrabled on the previous page:
