    Hi

There could be DNA evidence, EG hair in paint. If this is the case, tracking cctv footage etc, history of that person/etc/etc.

The may have been but wouldn't be tested and proves nothing.

Report it to the police. Likely nothing will happen but at least it is on record and its possible others on your street are getting the same treatment.

    Hi

We don't know if others are and please read my previous post, ie it could be anyoe one or more people that may have or not have a grudge against the OP or against someone else and wanting OP to think it could be them

As I said, tell the cops and never assume who it is and not.

    I feel for the OP

    Thanks

The police are even less likely to take and test DNA samples over a minor act of vandalism than they are to take fingerprints.

I just noticed blue paint sprayed all over one side of my car bodywork and windows, I managed to get it off at the car wash, is this considered as a criminal damage?

    Yes,

criminal damage covers defacement as well as permanent damage to an item. You need to consider that you may need to inform your insurer about such damage and declare it in future quotes if you were thinking of making it a police matter.

Sounds like it may be the person who wrote the note is escalating matters and it may not stop here. I had similar and got my wing mirror kicked off. Thought about all sorts of dash cam solutions, but in the end just stopped parking there permanently. I was told who had probably done it, but without proof there was little I could do.

Without evidence that catches the miscreant actually doing it, DNA and fingerprints will be as useful as a chocolate frying pan for frying hardboiled eggs.  It won't even reach circumstantial evidence level.  Capture of the evidence if full features and clear and high quality footage of the act itself will be required, and that won't guarantee that the police will do anything about it.  Likely result? A police caution followed by more harassment.
  • Stick a cctv camera in the window AND to comply with the law a 'cctv in operation' sign. Get the 150mm size so easily seen from across the road.

    Hi
Unlikley yes, but one could demand and see where this went.

    Worth a try IMO

    Thanks

How do you know they'll admit the offence?
