I’m trying to send RM Tracked via EBay and it’s showing as £8
    no other options 😫
    That’s what I was seeing, £8 for a 70g large letter!

RM click and drop is running normally though and I’ve printed off my last few parcels at £2.85 Rm tracked 48.
Thanks, I managed to do the same, I thought this promo was ongoing to mid February at least. It’s been fantastic and I’ve only just got around to changing postage policy and lowering prices for buyers, I’ve been using collect from home too.
Do we really think this has ended? Too sad 😔
  • Since this RM tracked 48 promo I’ve stopped using signed for altogether, lost 3 signed for packets over Christmas but I claimed and got the refunds within a week, Can’t fault the RM Tracked service, high praise for them even during all the disruption.
  • Remember though that you can’t drop off RM tracked parcels at a post office, whereas you can with the signed for delivery option. Not an issue though if RM are collecting the parcels.

I'm not sure that's correct - I dropped my parcels into the post office earlier today. It may have been the case in the past - as I recall there was a time a while ago the post office wouldn't take a parcel - but the website indicates they can be dropped off at the post office, and I did.

Well it looks like the party's over, as RM Tracked with no signature on Small Parcel has crept up to £3.35 online. Previously it was £2.85, and it was a no-brainer for sending items valued at £20 and below. Better amend your listings folks !!

For £20 and under value items standard small parcel second class at £2.85 online is fine. Still get confirmation of delivery. For higher value items I think Tracked48 still works out cheaper than Signed For.

Just to correct you jon81uk, you don't unfortunately get confirmation of delivery for Standard 2nd Class. You can get, if requested, Certificate of Posting from Post Office or online email if done as a collection.  But you're only covered for £20 on a claim. That was the beauty of the RM Tracked 48 service - same price but additional cover and confirmation of delivery.

They changed that sometime in November, and post offices were accepting parcels.

Yes you do, confirmation of delivery on all standard parcels has been operational for about 3 years (perhaps longer?) if you buy postage online via eBay the delivery number (it isn’t strictly tracking as it only shows delivery) is automatically added at despatch, if you buy from RM online or the PO you can add the reference number manually, I’ve been doing it for years.

I tend to buy via eBay and if I look down my sold page my parcels show a date when item was delivered and that covers any eBay INR claim, and before managed payments it also satisfies a PayPal INR. At the moment though letters (both large and standard) do not have this facility.

As you say though the difference is that standard parcels cover up to £20 comp but RM24 or RM48 covered up to £100.

I stand corrected soolin, and apologies jon81uk. It's strange as you say, as you do get a reference number via online purchase, albeit not in the 2 Letters,Numbers and GB format. It doesn't seem to get recognised on Tracking portal either, but good to know. Thanks.
