    bidded doesn't bother me as much as "brought" as the past tense of "to buy"

    Now that really makes me want to do evil things to the person who posts it!

    Yes, even reading this thread made me cringe, I absolutely hate spelling mistakes and wrong words. A BIG one is brought instead of bought. When I was younger my best friend always used to say it and I really cringed everytime, but I did just think it was only her that said it. Then LOADS of people say it on here. I also hate text speak. And I really hate it when you see a sign in a shop window advertising something and its spelt wrong. I walked past a cafe the other day and it was advertising a 3 coarse meal, I mean come on these people are supposed to be professionals!

    Sorry, but I do have a big problem, I think this is my OCD in life. My DF's best friend gets really nervous when he comes round incase I shout at him for saying something wrong. He always says " can you borrow me blah blah?" and I'm like "LEND!". And he says "our football team won yours yesterday" then I shout "BEAT US!"

    Ok finished now. :T

    Very guilty of that one :o
  • Another thing that really annoys me is when people use "like"
    "you know" & other stupid things in the middle of sentences as a sort of punctuation, you know, it's like really bloody annoying, you get me?

    People mixing up buyers and sellers. It's not hard! The person who sells it is the seller; the person who buys it is the buyer.

    Rant On

    Please can people not use "bidded", I know my English and spelling isn't the best but for some reason that word just drives me nuts.

    Rant Off

    Thanks

    I think I'm in love... :j

    I hate, abhor and detest bad English. A typo is one thing - always doing that - but ignorance.... oooh, don't get me started :eek:

    Random apostrophes drive me crazy! I hate it when people put them in plural words like "banana's". I always ask "banana's what?" and no one ever understands me... what is it that belongs to the banana that I'm not being told about?! I think I have issues.

    not issue's then:rotfl::rotfl:
