Random apostrophes drive me crazy! I hate it when people put them in plural words like "banana's". I always ask "banana's what?" and no one ever understands me... what is it that belongs to the banana that I'm not being told about?! I think I have issues.

Oh me too!!! I'm not alone!! Hurrah!!! :j

"All shoe's on sale". I went into the shop and asked 'all shoe's what?' They looked at me as though I'd been raised by wolves. I tried to explain...

I guess some people just don't know it's not a genuine word, and mistakenly use it.
I get annoyed by the brought/bought, where people just get it wrong.

So do I. It takes all my strength not to give them a grammar lesson. :)

It annoys me as well. I can read all caps, and I can read text speak to some extent, but what I really really struggle with is a member here that types like its a poem.

Better stay out of this thread then ;)

I once heard a well known Scottish politician tell a public meeting how ethnic minorities were being used as "SCRAPEGOATS". I cringed every time he said it.

And also (I know I shouldn't start a sentence 'And') those who say 'would of ' instead of would have or would've. As in my signature, the repeated over-use of apostrophes and question marks. You've got to love 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves if you love the English language.

Okay, back to biting my tongue and waiting for the abuse to start, as I know someone will come onto this thread to tell us we shouldn't be hard on anyone who can't spell or use grammar correctly.

    Baff.
Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
    Should OF, would OF
. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.

No, it's me as well :o My head feels funny when it doesn't rhyme.

My pet hate is the excessive use of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Drives me nuts
