Hello failingminimalist and nelliegrace we all seem to be catching nasty things from superspreaders… not fun.
I hope everyone’s ok. Pleasingly my # ribs are not as painful. Planning to be back at work from Weds next week all being well and giving myself time to build up activity levels without setting myself back. The Gp said no working this week. The plus side to being at home so much is that I just have one box of papers and stuff left to sort in the kitchen and the spices and herbs. On a rare outing I picked up some jars from Hobbycraft for them to go into. Hexagonal shaped so they will lie flat and easy to see what’s in them and to label. I got the idea from someone else, and it will revolutionise that section of the kitchen.Hoping to cut the small amount of lawn tomorrow, it’s now about 6”! That will be my physical exertion for the day. Will do some pruning at the weekend. Sunny weather but still sharp. Just re subscribed to the green bin collection for garden waste.Took an old wonky clothes airer to the tip, it had got to the point where it creaked and leaned alarmingly when it was loaded, must have been over 20 yrs old. Haven’t tried the new one yet, as been able to use the outside line, which is so much better in every way.
Hope @helensbiggestfan that you’re ok, the body and mouth recovering well.4 -
DH got the lawn’s first cut of the year done without the mower cutting out. He had the highest setting and cut just half a width of the mower at each length. A few regular cuts will tidy it.
Our little dog was so pleased, she has been looking enviously at the neighbours’ lawn where the grass was not so green and long.3 -
Wellness Wednesday.Hello lovely ladies......sorry I have been awol. The last few days have been a bit of a mixed bag. Some good, some great and some not so good. Family gatherings, lunch with a friend, pottering about In the lovely sunshine. However unfortunately I have been a bit below par the last few days.Unlike you unlucky ones I have managed to avoid the "super spreaders" and haven't caught any lurgies. However, I developed what is apparently called "dry socket" after my last tooth extraction, which has delayed the healing process. Rather uncomfortable and sore so I Went back to the dentist this Morning. Luckily no infection and it is finally starting to heal so she has packed and dressed the wound to speed things up. Feels much better already so 🤞 it should be ok now.Have cancelled todays chiro as a precaution but will keep my chiropodist appt tomorrow. All sounds a bit woe is me but I'm fine really. Just feeling a bit tired.Actually I am off on a little jolly on Friday.......a week in the Peak District with family. That will perk me up. 😁. Hoping we get some nice weather but not too concerned, it's nice to just get away and have a change of scene, have fun with my grandchildren. The holiday rental itself looks lovely and I always enjoy pottering around the Peak District.Currently raining here and has turned rather chilly. So a nice quiet afternoon.....

Have a nice break.:)
I'm not doing too much for Easter. We are taking my dog to the beach at the weekend as the weather is meant to be nice. We haven't even got Easter eggs actually yet as Asda were out of stock of the ones we wanted.3 -
So it’s Transformational Tuesday…
I hope everyone is well and had a good long weekend. At long last I’m getting my mojo back. Waiting for the OK from work to return soonest. The Easter weekend and BH was a mix of walk and a lunch out, cinema, garden, baking for the freezer, and some other chores. The new mower was an instant success, so much easier, and the old one sold immediately on Marketplace. I’ve found a few other things to sell too, it all helps. The spices and herbs are beautifully sorted and look great and now because they’re so easy to access they’re more in use than ever. Owing to my completely sorted pantry, and freezer, the next few weeks will just involve shopping for veggies, fruit, eggs, yogurt and milk.
The film was Allelulia, not quite what I expected, but then we don’t often read the reviews beforehand. Food for thought and lots of discussion afterwards. Some people walked out part way through.Just tackling the last pile of kitchen papers, and am really proud of what I achieved while at home. I know lots of people did this sort of big sort out during lockdowns but back then I was working FT as a volunteer. It’s taken me a lifetime to get everything just as it should be in the kitchen, better late than never, and shows we’re never too old to make changes for the better in whatever sphere of life we choose - be it personal or practical.Have a great week everyone.5 -
Transformational Tuesday. Great stuff.
I have sorted through all my makeup and thrown out a few bits. It seems I'd got a bit boring and a lot of it was neutral shades so I've just ordered some palettes of colourful eye shadows. To complete my transformation I'm also dyeing my hair tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.3 -
I am reading through the thread , so far got to page 33 as I have away for 4 weeks, so if I make a comment that turns out to be old hat/ out of date by page 38 please excuse me!
I wanted to comment about the fizzy water. Buying a soda stream will only make water fizzy- it won't change the taste of your local water! For that you will need either a filter jug or plumbed in water filter. That really does make a difference to the flavour.
I haven't bought any lately, but what price is the huge bottle of sparkling water in Aldi? I used to buy them occasionally and put a slice or two of lemon in. Another popular addition is slices of cucumber.
For fitness I don't think you can beat some swimming. You can also do some of your exercises in the pool which makes them a tad easier.
Best wishes ladies

Fab Friday.Hello Lovely Ladies
I am back......with a vengeance!!!! And more determined than ever to look, feel and be fabulous. However, I still have a huge mountain to climb but never mind onwards and upwards.Had a lovely holiday. The weather was mixed and rather chilly at times but that didn't stop us having a good time and of course it's always lovely to spend time with loved ones. For some obscure reason my eldest grandchild took to calling me Bob😂🤣.Since returning I have had a bit of a fibro flare up. Probably through getting thoroughly chilled a couple of times whilst we were away, so working on that. I have also been busy gardening which won't have helped with my aches and pains but at least I managed to do it myself and have avoided the necessity of having to pay someone.I haven't been walking much or exercising properly but at least gardening counts towards movement. There was a lot of lawn mowing........This morning I have been catching up with financial matters. Boring and time consuming but it had to be done, moving money around, looking for better deals for insurance renewals. I am currently chasing EDF for a refund. They owe me £241 and promised me back in February that a refund was on its way......I bet they would be a lot quicker if I owed them. 😉.Thankfully that's it for today so now I can get on with more fun stuff. It's very cold here today and wet and miserable so not sure whether or not I'll venture out.Fab wise the other day I went for a bra fitting before purchasing new bras, also bought some cami tops. Nothing very exciting. Had to cancel a scheduled hair appt so need to sort that out but I have another tooth extraction due next week so will probably wait a week or two. I have two more chiro appts and then hopefully it will just be maintenance only.
I will be so glad to have finished with the dental prep work and the chiro. With hindsight managing the two sets of treatments simultaneously was a bit ambitious but I guess nothing ventured nothing gained and it did speed things up a bit.
Now it's time to get down to shifting those extra lbs, sort out my wardrobe, buy some nice new summer gladrags.Oh and think about house hunting. 😂.Hope you are all well and keeping up the good work.8 -
Good to hear you had a lovely break with your family, Helen 😊 Hope the house hunting goes well!
We are pressing on with the prep for selling the old mill - lots of plastering being done on DH's days off so that element at least is nearly there. The (slightly) better weather and lighter evenings have helped us crack on with finishing a few areas of the garden too - three more dumpy bags of gravel for the paths and a seating area were delivered a couple of weeks back - and I spent yesterday planting.
I've also been decluttering some more and sold a further five cushions yesterday (for £60 which went into the house fabbing pot).
For dressing our bedroom I ordered some stunning Linwood Arboreal velvet fabric (to make a couple of giant bed cushions) and a boho bed throw from Doing Goods. The room is almost ready now and will look fabulous I hope.
Planning to be ready to go on the market in about a month. We can't wait to move home to England from Wales 😁5
