Fabulous Friday.Well despite having to have a tooth extracted so no make up today I did make a bit of an effort. Dressed nicely, smart casual. Home now. Have been ordered to "do nothing and eat lots of carbs". So there we go......... a sofa and movie afternoon, stuffing my face with chips, cake and chocolate. 😂🤣. I have cancelled all plans for the weekend too. Give my poor body a rest.Failingminimalist. Good luck with the gynaecologist today, hope all goes well. Unfortunately I am having some issues too, so that's next on my hit list. There's always something isn't there. But I did say at the outset I would have to give myself a year to address everything. So will just plod on and not bother too much with house hunting just now.Wednesday. Lovely photo. A very dramatic sky. Last evening I put the bins out at about 6pm. It was almost dark but surprisingly warm and the birds were singing their hearts out. Definitely a sign spring is on its way, although it's very cold today and forecast to get even colder.8

Fabulous friday: I went through most of my clothes and got rid of everything that doesn't make me feel fabulous! So out with the dark colours and keeping the bright colours. Drawers look bare 😬 but needs must. Going to go shopping after Easter and get some fabulous new things with 'real money'. The only dark colour thing I have kept is a black dress. For those breakfast at Tiffany's moments......well you never know! 😆 Enjoy your weekend off @helensbiggestfan and I hope everyone else has a lovely weekend too. I need to convince dc to do their homework.....😟2024 decluttering Campaign

Today my youngest Daughter is 30!. My eldest Daughter, Son in Law and Grandson are here and we are having a family meal this evening. My Brother and Sister are joining us. I am taking my Brother to her house at 3pm for present opening and a little glass of champagne. We all recorded a message, along with friends and her Partner has put them all together.Enjoy your Saturday everyone8

Happy Birthday to your daughter.:)
I am off out to see Creed 3 in central London and then go to a gig in the evening. I am wearing lots of layers as it was very chilly out yesterday! My husband is staying in to wait for the insurance people to come round as we have a water leak and we can't locate where it is coming from. The blood tests for my cat came back as normal, but she is acting listless so we might have to take her back next week.
I'm going to eat at home before I go out to save some money!

Hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend @helensbiggestfan x
Today has been a day of two halves. 0.5lb gain at SW but I'm very close to target now so expect to be doing the hokey cokey with that same 0.5lb for a couple of weeks. I went CS searching afterwards. Needed a couple of indoor plant pots to sow some chives and basil for Mothers Day gifts. Found just the things - total of £3. Also found a leather Hotter cross body bag for £1 which I'll keep for me, a BNWT Mia and Tui purse and an 'A' initial mug, both of which will be gifted to DNiece for Christmas. I also found a handmade pottery tea light holder of a Cake Shop which I will gift to my Mum for Mothers Day - £4 - just need to get some vanilla or similar tealights for it. I loathe Mothers Day as hate the consumerism it generates. Both Mums done for £6 each this year and all from CSs.
I have cleaned the bathrooms and managed to get bleach on my nicest pair of dark blue jeggings. Bit miffed but should've been more careful. On the other hand - my house is lovely and clean and I can enjoy visiting DD in Brighton tomorrow without thinking of all the little jobs I need to get done.
Enjoy the birthday celebration @sheilavw and happy birthday to your DD x
Hope you enjoy the film @Wednesday2000 x

Well done with your bargains @coxy11. I dislike mothers day too because of the pressure and consumerism. When my dm was alive she expected it all from me; present (normally jewellery), flowers, card, Bath stuff, flowers and a meal out which used to take a large chunk of my wages, my brother and sister would get away with chocolates and a card and normally my brother 'forgot' and nothing was made of it. One year, I was seriously saving for a house deposit and we were getting married later in the year, so couldn't afford the usual meal (for 5 people by the way!) And such a fuss was made, tantrums and silent treatment I was gobsmacked! I am the opposite. A cuddle and a homemade card if they feel like.2024 decluttering Campaign

Oh I'm so sorry @Dfw38 - I have been telling my 3 adult children for the past week or so not to get me anything. DD was home from uni for a random day this week and got me an orchid in Ts, so I've said that's for my MD gift, please don't get me anything else.
My Mum likes to receive something but isn't fussed about seeing me/DSis(!) and MIL always invites us round so she can be spoilt by her 3 children. She's such a snob - it will make my day to see her opening her CS gifts mwahahaha. It's my BIL's birthday the same day this year, so I'm hoping we can do a whistle-stop tour and then have a relaxing afternoon at home!
Today we are going to Brighton to take DD out for Sunday roast. I am going to dress up and do my hair - Sunday is usually a no make-up, hair in a scrunchie day. Not today!
Have a good day all
Coxy

Dfw38 that’s really sad, Mother’s Day should be a bunch of daffs and a visit if you can I think!I’ve had a busy week as it was my birthday, two lunches out and a visit to Leeds castle with dh yesterday, we can use the tickets for the rest of the year so hopefully we will make the most of them.Today I’m tidying up as i’ve been out a lot, and maybe watching a film at home with some birthday chocolates as the house is empty at the moment (I still have 2/3 at home plus a dil and a sometimes visiting girlfriend) so an empty house is rare 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

Thanks @Coxy11 and @newgirly. The benefit is that my dc will never be under that pressure when they are older (they are little at the minute). The worst part is that we have been clearing my parents house dmum died nearly 5 years ago and ddad is in a care home and my sister has just cleared 80 large bin bags of clothes from their bedroom. We cleared 40 together pre-covid. Sister also discovered lots of toiletries, jewellery and other gifts that were asked for/expected/demanded (deletebas appropriate!) For birthdays, Xmas and Mother's day just in large boxes. Never worn, used or removed from packaging. The toiletries are now no good, the clothes need to be collected as a large waste collection from the council as the room is full of mould (hoarders....) and the jewellery- there is so much we have no idea what to do with it. We don't particularly want it 🤷🏼♀️ just adds so much stress to an already stressful situation!
Hope you enjoy your lunch out @Coxy11 and your film @newgirly and I hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.2024 decluttering Campaign

@Dfw38 why not take one or two pieces each, sell the rest & each buy yourself something you love to remember your mum? I bought a gold diamond tennis bracelet after my mum died, which I wear 24/7 with the gold bracelet she bought when her mum died.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
