Good morning,
hope the poorly feel better soon and welcome to the new turtles (now I miss all the cool waving etc emojis we used to have here, or I just don't know how to get them now).
I'm off today as the schools are on strike and DH is away. Allowed my self a wee lie in and now tackling the long to do list I wrote last night.
Stuck a bit of gammon and some chicken in the slow cooker. The gammon is for tonight and the chicken is for lunches. I got loads of veggie soups in the freezer but don't find them filling enough so will add the chicken. Will wash all the beds and hang them in the sun, paid the dentist, got a few tidying jobs to do.
A friend gave us a packet of anchovies. Decided to make some anchovy-caper-olive paste, just had some on toast ... delicious
This morning I also renewed our EU travel health cards. After Brexit I binned the ones we had but it seems that system is still in place. Only now I jump through so many more hoops. DH and DC only had to give their names, address and DOB. I had to answer a list of more questions, proof my settled status etc. But I'm grateful we can get them again. That reminds me, last year I got a years travel insurance and I need to find that document.
Today shall be an NSD
Gratitude: sunshine
cheeky day off due to strikes
EU heath care cards
Oh and still need to do my February challenge list thingy
Better off and be productive
Onwards and upwards turtles

Freedom is our goal. We started going to the library again, and I started to declutter the house and sell stuff.
Exercise SO NEED to start again
Budgets. Done.
Rules Dry February
Unburden yourself of tat. Will be doing that in continuation from January and in connection with "Freedom"
Advance planning: The 14th is my birthday but I haven't got anything planned as paying of debt comes first this year, no more excuses. Plus we also have DH's big 50 this year, mine is just a random number. Got a trip planned in April that's paid for. Tempted to not go anywhere in the summer but then do the big winter trip to Germany over Christmas this year. Haven't been "home" for Christmas for 4-5 years now. In September we got our annual anniversary stay in the hotel we got married but tempted to skip a year as it's not cheap and always sets me back a few step in my financial journey
Reject sometimes I wish I could separate from my DH for a while, he can be a bad influence, I need to grow a spine. Recharge & Refuel properly. I'm not getting any younger and I start to feel and look it which is new to me. So this area definitely needs attention.
Yesterday has been and gone - need to remember not to dwell but focus on my goals
2 trips out this month. will try
0ne hundred days from Feb 1st is May 11th (a day before my bday, y’know!!!) Where do you want to be by then? What will you commit to achieving by then? What habit will you practice for 100 days? Or give up? Or make sure you try to do consistently? - will have a think
2 books read/listened to. Or more. 1/2 done
3 gratitudes will do.
And the rest:
We start of Feb 1st 2023 and go through to the 28th.
15 NSDs is the goal - will aim for 20

Hope all the poorly turtles are feeling better today.
Just back from pre op assessment at hospital. Everything is ok as far as I can see. The staff are just amazing. I have never come across such kind and caring people (apart from on here, of course).
When we got back there was a bag outside the door with a carton of home made soup and some lovely home baking. The lovely cousin had been and left it because she thought I wouldn't feel like cooking something for my lunch. Such a wee star.
So on her orders and those of Himself I am sitting here having a quiet and as far as possible relaxing afternoon. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -

Another day mostly in bed for me. Spoke to a nurse friend who says I have Norovirus and it should pass quickly. I do feel better than yesterday - just weak and ache-y, and no appetite.Mum took DS who’s still coughing and also doesn’t have an appetite. OH went to work having spent the night in the spare room (in the hope he avoids exploding from both ends🤢)Today I hung up a washing (slowly and pathetically). I’ve wobbled about the house doing the tiniest of jobs like disinfecting the toilet by throwing chemicals at it.On the plus side, I’ve bagged a NSD.Grateful today for Mum looking after DS, for being better than yesterday, and for oatcakes.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Hi Turtles,
I feel exhausted reading everyone's achievements. Hopefully I will get up to speed.
I always begrudge going out to walk the dog but once I'm out it's great just a bit blustery this morning. I am doing some stretches whilst the kettle boils for a cup of tea. I suspect my tea drinking is a culprit with regards to me feeling tired. I didn't know about the iron absorption problem but I have read that excessive tea drinking depletes zinc and magnesium. I have had a cup of bone broth instead of one cup of tea this morning and will attempt to do that from now on.
I have dug out a card and stamp for an aunt who fell and broke both her wrists before Christmas. Probably healed by now! This is a thing that I do. I buy the card, buy a stamp and then card sits in a drawer for even years. I'm determined to write it out and post this evening.
I've started spring cleaning because I am desperate for Spring to arrive! I spotted crocuses out in my neighbour's garden this morning so had a boost from that. I am thinking about what I would like to have achieved in 100 days. I have to make some big changes/decisions and stop feeling so bad about my life as it is at the moment.
I am grateful for where I live, five minutes from the beach, spectacular views.
I am grateful for my doggie. He makes me go out and then I chat to people.
I am grateful that we now have some warmth in the house which is thawing me out and waking me up from winter.
I hope to be more orderly in future posts!
