f0xh0les said:We get mixed up all the time polly, we have done for years! Wish I was as creative as she is, sadly I am talentless in that department, maybe one day though.Dave has left the building!! DH drove him a mile and a half away and released him into the undergrowth of a 'country park' - the often waterlogged grassland near a very large quatro-carriageway between a couple of rivers and a canal - he will make a tasty snack for the red kites or the foxes. It's the ciiiiiiircle of liiiiiife! Traps rebaited in case he was not alone.Going to strip all the beds and do laundry today, back on the 'housewifey' treadmill. On Tuesday morning I have an architect coming to tell me what is possible in my house. Let the games commence.I'm so glad Dave has gone. Lets hope he doesn't hitch a lift back. I have never been a fan of rodents, Each of my four children at one time begged for some sort of rodent but were told we only did cats. We do see the odd one Mouse not Rat run across the bottom of the back garden . We have an RSPB site nearby and they steal food there. When I bought this house and all the fencing went in I left gaps between the fence panels at the back against my side fences they were hedgehog escape routesAfter a couple of years baby hedgehogs began to appear. I was putting the milk bottles out late one night and Ollie mog whizzed past me and was transfixed watching a couple of baby hedgehogs exploring the front garden and drinking from a puddle. I'm convinced the neighbours think I'm utterly bonkers. Pouring with rain late at night and I'm saying come away Ollie you wont like it if the mum or dad appear and the little ones will be covered in fleas and I do not need to deal with that.Cue one irate Silver Tabby being dragged indoors. Had to give him some of the Whiskas cat treats to shut him up they were the things pre drive your cat loopy Dreamies. Dd3 banned them for her two but the ladies in the next door nursing home supply him with them in secret when he visits them each day.His little sister Magrat Garlick is quite happy with the good for the teeth Coop soft sticks and though she's tiny gives him a good bashing when he gets home high as a kite. He is a very big cat but she knows how to deal with himpollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I went out today for the first time in weeks apart from hospital appointments. Only to Aldi but it's a start. I'm going to try to get out every day this week even if it's only a walk around the area. With a view to starting to eat properly again we bought fruit, veg and salad stuff. Having prawn salad for lunch and thee is a Thai curry in the slow cooker.
I am shocked at how much food has increased in price in the matter of weeks and even more so at the empty shelves. No cucumbers (had to buy baby ones), very limited choice of tomatoes and only green peppers. The food bank is apparently very short of tinned meats but they didn't have anything apart from hot dogs. Whilst I was looking for peppers a foreign gentleman engaged me in conversation and told me out local Tescos (there are two of them within reasonable walking distance) and Asda are the same. What is going on!
Seeing a plastic surgeon on Wednesday. Got a rather strange letter from the hospital. Not sure I completely understand it but I discuss it with Jan, my lovely nurse, on Wednesday. She's a star. I don't know how much she gets paid but it's not nearly enough.
So, I think we'll have a quiet type of day and meal plan for next week.
Have a peaceful Sunday. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Forgot to post yesterday. Had a chilled morning, went to my first boxing session of the year which I really enjoyed. Came home, did some reading, cleaning etc. OH went out with friends so I had the house to myself all evening, watched a couple of TV shows and had a relatively early night.Thinking about joining the gym where the classes are held, it would be £29 a month, although I can get a discount through work. Doing classes on a pay as you go basis costs £5 a time so I'm gonna keep track of how often I go and see if it works out cheaper to buy a membership.Today I popped to the dump to get rid of a few bits, then went out for a ride on my share horse. Weather was good and it felt good to be getting back out there. Did some sewing repairs when I got back home and have just been chilling since.I've racked up 2 NSD's so I think I'm up to 12 in total. One more day off work, have enjoyed just getting back to feeling like "me" in my time off and just taking time out, I'm not fussed about not doing loads, this was very much needed!10

Today I am grateful for my gym (even if it does cost more than lcc's 😂), for easy peasy food, for a lovely chat with dc about life, for how good a shower and hair wash made me feel after my mega gym session, for a day of watching old black and white films.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!11

NSD 10 and most of my to-do list for today completed. Mostly just general house-work related stuff, but been out and collected something from a friend that I need to drop off somewhere else tomorrow.
No progress on sorting the next room to be painted- I know next weekend it will not be possible to do anything, so I need to try and get the furniture shifted and walls washed down through the week so I don't lose all my motivation!
My total step count for the week is over 100K again so pleased with that.12 -
NSD 11 or maybe more, dunno, but definitely the 11. Apart from feeding everyone, a couple of loads of laundry, and Dave trapping, I have done nothing, but I am starting to feel a lot better. Stupid head cold. Darned inconvenient timing.
DH is off to 'abroad' for work on Tuesday and I am going to miss him.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Woo hoo @f0xh0les, so glad Dave has moved to foreign climes 😃 hopefully his girlfriend hasn't moved in with you too 🤞 a visit from an architect sounds exciting, what're you having done?
Had a long lie today, put the washing on the airer, then spent the day quilling. Got the picture finished @4.15, went to get wrapping paper from the shed, then panicked as I was supposed to be meeting friends for high tea at 4pm!! Phoned one of them to say I was on my way (whilst trying to take my body warmer off one handed 🤣), only for the friend to remind me that the time had been changed to 5.30. Phew! Had a lovely time with them & a good catch up. We've been friends for 25 years, we met when working together 😃
Had a nice soak in the bath with my book, then watched an episode of a programme with DH.
Grateful for the finished picture looking good, time with treasured friends & it being the 2nd of my planned nights out (used birthday money to pay for my meal - does it therefore count as an NSD?)
Here's the picture I made:
