I have just watched the memorial service for Barry Martin, the Scottish firefighter who lost his life as result of the Jenners fire.The big name food banks here are pretty off putting to most people very judgemental , One woman tells rough sleepers to tidy themselves up or they wont get anywhere in life so they walk away and don't go back .That's why we set up our community one life is tough enough for many without being shamed.The there but for fortune go you and I in my signature is from the song of the same name as it explains why some people are drunks. tramps and as it was written in America hobos.I'm very uch of the Don't judge anyone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.I remember watching the Jenners fire it must have been a nightmare to fight.It was so huge I used to be worn out after a couple of departments.The bravery to face that is unbelievable instinct would be to run away but they run towards. My now retired fireman friend who put his early pension in to buying and renovating edwardian and victorian properties in the nearby village had some near misses as leading fireman but luckily madeit to early retirement. I don;t know if that is still a thing but back then firemen retired earlier on special pensions so he put the money in to propertyHow is Miss Summer doing?pollyxx

Afternoon turtlesDay 3 of annual leave and I'm finally starting to feel more like me again after being ill for such a long time.Cleaned the aquarium first thing, then got on my bike and cycled to the farm shop (lots of uphill!) For a few essential bits. Plus a very much non-essential donutFinally gave the car a quick wax with my protective stuff and then have mainly been reading and doing a bit of batch cooking this afternoon. Have had an early bath and am already in my pyjamas!Managed to get some life admin done as well, only prepping the next few weeks at work/home but it helps me feel more relaxed and less anxious about things when I plan.As it was a NSD I ordered a book (£5.99) as well. I'm trying to buy only 2 new non-essential "things" each month and that takes this month's total to 2.12

My Half Term starts HERE! Whoop whoop ✋✋
One kid off school today(nosebleeds and nausea), one came home with a heavy head cold, one has a horrid cough, and one has a sore throat.😷😷. Keep them away from me!! DH is feeling like he is coming down with something as well. Well, it is traditional in our house for them all to fall ill in Feb half term.
Dave is still at large, but we think we know where the little rat is now hiding 🐀.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Looks like ds has hand foot and mouth 😬 he has little sores on his tongue and since his bath spots on his hand. Gah! All 3 dc have been ill this half term.
Grateful for;
1. Getting loads of frogs tackled when ds was napping.
2. Ds eating some melon and bread and butter.
3. Both Dds helping me to entertain ds during the day to distract him for feeling so poorly.
Hope you have a lovely half term @f0xh0les and the bugs disappear!2024 decluttering Campaign

Hope all the poorly people feel better soon, & don't share their bugs around. Happy half term @f0xh0les.
Storm Otto was very strong & loud first thing, so glad my porch roof didn't end up in Kansas (I no longer have any red shoes, like Dorothy). Didn't do yoga again. Had quite an easy day, it was the teacher's last day, so no work planned. Did lots of reading with my pupil, we started book 4 in the set, so read @50 pages. Spent time in the library this afternoon, so finished putting all the new books on the system, & got them displayed.
Headed to town afterwards, dropped sewing off, then went shopping with mum. Saw a few people I know, so had a few chats along the aisles.
Put the shopping away after tea, then did some knitting.
Grateful for the house not blowing away, an easy day at work, catch ups with people not seen for a while, time to knitUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
