Well last time the moderators did that, I buggered off for ten years. Goodbye all.

Yep happened last year.  This is data taken from a time when you put in your details and car reg online.  We suspect for Deliveroo car insurance or similar.

Hey Mouse, don't leave us now, not when we are on the brink of crushing this scam industry, you need to be part of that

If that was the reason then my apologies. I was one who posted a picture and name of the "accountant"

    Really sorry! ☹️☹️
  • I don't think I saw the post you are referring to @GeorgeFormby, but if it was the reason, the powers that be would just delete your post, not the whole thread, surely?

If the name is a person who is part of the scam, and this is a genuine scam within the legal definition of such
and likewise the photo is of the person who is part of this that what is the issue?
Its in the public domain and the individual has the right of reply

As someone who has created and run a very successful forum since 1995 with well over 15 million views a month and over half a million registered readers, I find that the fact that the moderators have decided to remove the thread "because it contained pictures" of people who are in the public domain to be a cowardly act. If they've received any threats of legal action over what was posted, they should first contact the poster and at least let them know the situation.

I saw nothing in that thread that constituted a breach of any privacy and every bit of information provided was in the public domain. Some of the allegations were assumptive but certainly weren't libellous. I've been threatened by some of the richest people in the world, over the years, through their legal representatives, because of something alleged on my forum. However, not once have I actually been sued and the content in those threads was much more serious than anything that was in the thread that was taken down without any notice here.

It would at least be decent if the moderators were to provide a notice or explanation for their reasoning for their decision and not hide behind a cloak of anonymity. This issue is extremely serious and needs highlighting at every possible opportunity so that any people who are more gullible than the rest of us are not scammed by these people.
