Anyone know if more than 1 one year fix 4.25% is permitted?  (It was with the flexi 3% one).

Just that when I opened the first one I didn't instruct a transfer in at the time of opening as I wanted to wait a bit as I had to 'reload' another flexible ISA that I was planning to transfer in and need a couple of weeks to sort it.  But now want to transfer in my Virgin Flexi ones instead.  But I now find out that I've either got to phone them or fill in a form and post it.   Whereas it would be quicker and easier just to open another one and instruct transfers at time of opening (system glitch issue noted) and let the first one lapse.

Yeah, it seems fine to have a second one. Much easier than mailing

Yep.  Just opened a second no problem.  Only annoying thing is the transfer system glitch as I was hoping that I could transfer both Flexis during application but because it bombs out after you hit the Start ISA Transfer button I couldn't add the second one.  Hopefully the transfer will appear tomorrow as others have experienced.  Will have to open a third one to transfer the other Flexi.

Deplorable service, probably heading for a formal complaint if the transfer doesn't process.
Good luck with that - my complaint from
July 2022 is still not resolved 😶

Happened to me as well. Apparently its because they have two web platforms Namely one that was Clydesdale and other Virgin

Maybe, but both the 3% and the new 4.25% are on the Clydesdale platform.  Same sort code.
Information given at time of phone call (2 Platforms) Thought it would be a simple internal transfer.

Also had problems with a transfer out  to another provider. There is a list for another provider to provide the right code to Virgin  and other banks apparently Virgin has more than one and if the outside provider imputes the wrong code the other company gets a message account not found. But Virgin does not keep a record of the application.

Have you taken them to the FOS yet? If I'm not mistaken after 8 weeks with no final response you are well within your rights to escalate the matter.

I haven't yet - currently perusing a HSBC complaint through the ombudsman and it's taken months and it's still not allocated... I would prefer to keep the FOS card in my inventory, and get a resolution proposed by Virgin Money, which if I do not agree with/am unhappy with, I could then contact the ombudsman. I keep meaning to escalate it with the CEO/Executive Relations team, but I keep putting it off, convincing myself that it'd be resolved soon anyway - even though it clearly won't :/

OK so transfer the existing account, then pay in "just under" £4K to keep within the limit. Don't do it the other way round, you're not allowed to pay into two Is as in the same tax year.
But wouldn't that be paying into two in the same year? I paid into the 3% one only a few weeks ago. I'm confused lol.

When you do a full transfer, the initial ISA will be closed so you will be left with 1 active subscribing ISA which you can add the 'just under 4k' too
Well my ISA transfered successfully just 5 minutes ago, but when I tried to top it up to £20K it failed with a message to say as I had already contributed to an ISA this tax year I couldn't contribute to this one. :-

Just to clarify, you opened a Virgin Easy access Isa a few months ago and deposited 16k approx.
Did you open/subscribe to any other ISAs since April 6 2022?
And recently you done a full transfer from the Virgin easy access to a fixed rate, which completed today?
Then you tried to deposit approx 4k and was stopped.
Maybe try again tomorrow, in case there is an overlap of some sort and the easy access one is not completely off the system.
Just a thought. Can't see any other reason.
