I can see the light at the end of the chemo tunnel (ie am recovering from Fridays barrage of poison) am almost pain free, brain seems to be functioning and I have even sorted some sewing bits out. A proper sort and tidy of the sewing box will be on the Toots list. I can feel stubbly hair growing too, must be 2-3mm long, on my crown, where it’s falling out despite the cool cap. The cool cap in the hospital in Steel City seemed to fit much better than the one here.
DD took me for my PICC flush as I didn’t feel able to drive (to be honest I didn’t feel up to walking either, but I managed).I have folded washing, loaded DW and put paired socks on a radiator to air.

It's good to know that you're feeling so much more positive, Valli - all the best for tomorrow! xx
A beautiful sunrise here this morning. There were big black clouds out to the west a short time ago, but they appear to be moving on quite quickly. They needn't hang around on my account.
My first day of freedom is going to involve giving my car some TLC (including screen wash), updating my Toots list, the usual emails and phonecalls to arrange coffee dates with friends, Rosie, decluttering a few more items that I've grown out of (take that as you will), and a trip to the CS shop. I still have to be careful about picking up heavy items, so I'll deal with just a day or two's worth of decluttering at a time. I've got an order arriving from the jungle which includes some saddle soap - no, we haven't acquired a pony: I just need to clean up some old leather books.
It sounds as if DH has nearly finished preparing breakfast, so I'd best get moving. Hope everyone has a good day xxx11 -
Valli and Iona good news for both of you, please make sure you don't go over doing it with your new found freedom. For once it is plus 5 hereSo once I had done the daily type stuff, I have been outside for about 3 hours 'gardening'I've dug out soil / weeds / plants, to the relevant depth and laid a paving slab, had to get OH to help me lift it, it is in and level
, on top of it have have put the old water butt stand, and water butt, which I think I have mended with waterproof tape, well that is what the box said, instructions were followed. So just have to wait for it to dry, then next job for OH is to drill 2 holes near the tops as directed by me, and I connect the 2 butts up, so one is an overflow to the other, extra free water for the summer, so win, win.
I have weed 2 large flower beds and spread the dug out soil over them both, raked level.Weeded 3/4 way along the back fence, the beech saplins seem ok.Pulled some weeds from the strawberry bed, finding, the sweetpeas have self set, so that is a suprise even more so because of the very cold weather here.Watched a buzzard hunting in the field with low swoops, it had the cats running to me.Come in now as my hand were gwtting very cold, I did have 2 pais of gardening type gloves on.I have sent an email to saw supplier as it is not working, asking either for a replacement or a full refund, giving them 3 working days to reply...................Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hello. It's lovely to have positive news on here. Just need spring to arrive now.
Work shift done, dailies done, dog walked, hoovered through and inspired by Valli I've tidied the drawer on my sewing table.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Iona fan, Valli it is so good to hear you are both doing better
onwards and upwards huh? xxx You inspire to not give in xxx two loads of washing done, one dried one drying on airer. Loads of ironing done and put away , hoover run around, contemplating doing last half dozen items of ironing but OH due in anytime now so may just use that as an excuse to leave it until tomorrow, I know I am bad!! xx Should I get my coat now?

Morning (just about).
Not feeling exactly bright or bushy-tailed this morning, but there's nothing obviously wrong with me.
I have
- cleaned the "railway" loo
- refilled/replaced soap dispensers there and in utility
- checked the shelves in the utility, used up the last bits of cleaners in some bottles, thrown out the empties - there is now space on the shelves to move the bottles around and reach the ones in the back row
- checked the cupboard under the sink in the utility for any vases or cleaning cloths to fling, but didn't find any
- FUPA lots of dry washing
- 5 minute pick-up in LR, kitchen and DR; PA various items left out by DH
- finally got round to dusting the little PC trolley under my desk
- cancelled 3 standing orders
Still to be done today:
- read cardio rehab info pack
- write goddaughter's birthday card and wrap gift
- send a couple of emails
- file some papers
- try again to get through on the phone to DS-i-L
- send DH off to his eye test at 2.00
- swap some things from his under his bed to mine, and vice versa, while he's out - he has no idea what's in the drawers!
- walk Rosie
All very random!!!
But first, more coffee, if anyone wants to join me? xxx10
