That's what I call "hard core" weather compensation, you don't use a room (or other internal) thermostat. I think it works best when you want your house to be exactly the same temperature 24/7. But anything that disrupts the normal temperature of the house, such as solar gain on a sunny day, a party with a lot of people in the house, wind chill on a windy day, opening a window etc will not be controlled. So, for example, if solar gain makes your house hotter than usual, "hard core" weather compensation won't know about this
I run my Daikin 6kw on 'pure weather compensation' - it runs really well. I have the over/undershoot programmed in - it drops the LWT 2º at night & puts it back to the curve in the morning. In the winter it increases the LWT around 15.30 by 1º and so on. If I need a quick on the hoof change - I up/down the overshoot which takes about 1 second of effort. It's a great way to trial curve settings before programming them in too.
My heat pump purred through winter very nicely like this. Even the defrosts were short and well-spaced. I love it and it's kind to the compressor.1
