I have completed my Directions Questionnaire (N180) and intend emailing it to CCBC and the Claimants legal team, am I being pro-active or is this too early as I only posted my defence yesterday? I have read contradicting advice on this forum, thanks.0

Generally the advice given here is to wait until you know that the CCBC has sent the blank DQ to you. It has been reported that the CCBC return the form if you send it too early.Carlingcup said:I have completed my Directions Questionnaire (N180) and intend emailing it to CCBC and the Claimants legal team, am I being pro-active or is this too early as I only posted my defence yesterday? Your MCOL Claim History will indicate when it gets sent to you, or you can simply wait until it drops through your letter-box.2

The CCBC will chuck it back at you. Too early.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, So I have received this after sending my defence to both CCBC and UKPC legal team....not sure why they have sent it as they could see I copied both parties into the email 🤔

The CCBC will forward your defence to DCB Legal. Yes, we know that the NEWBIES FAQ sticky says to copy in the solicitors, but this was safety first during Covid as the CCBC was having problems in copying defences to solicitors. These seem to now have disappeared, and the sticky will be updated as and when the Government's new mandatory Code of Practice is fully implemented. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Perhaps when we send to the solicitors in future the email has a paragraph to the effect of, "I acknowledge that I do not need to send you a copy of the paperwork, but for the sake of transparency I have copied that which has been sent to CCBC"2

The letter received by the OP seems to state that the directions in the response pack state that you do not send it to the claimant's solicitors, maybe someone who has had/received/read/seen a response pack can comment, I have not ever received one but have looked at notes for guidance N1C (doesn't say either way), despite the Claim Form N1, stating that the defendant should read the notes in the guidance as that will tell you where to send your completed forms, in all cases, defended, fully admitted or part admitted, it states to send the forms to the court, NOT the CCBC but at this point the claimant has not decided if they want to proceed and the DQ has not been issued, so nobody knows which court.2

            Hi Everyone,
I have received this today which included an N180 for for settlement/mediation purposes which I will obviously reject, should I be expecting a court date anytime soon? TIA.
