Are 1p mobile any good?

I will finish this off by saying how impressed I am with the 1Pmobile website. When you log in as a user you get very detailed listings of exactly what you used and when. All so simple and clear on a clear and fast website. Much better than I have seen on other providers before.0

Quick question regarding roaming in the EU…. There isn’t a FUP listed for data use in the EU - all it says is that data is used in the normal way as if in the UK (1p/MB) and the allowance works in the EU. So - do they have a FUP or if I was to buy a 50GB allowance for example - can I use the whole lot abroad?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Brilliant thanks. It wasn’t clear on their main page that’s all.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. I've just signed up with 1p mobile and as others have said, their website is excellent and everything just seems so well organised and thought out.
I was unsure whether, if I did a £6 boost for 2GB of data each month, they'd still want me to do a £10 topup every 120 days in addition, to stop me being cut off. They said that boosts are funded from the credit balance,so I've concluded that you don't need to do the £10 topup every 120 days if you're paying them £6 per month for boosts.
I guess what it boils down to is that, not unreasonably, the minimum they want to make out of each customer is £30 per year and that's fine by me!0 -
Agreed they don't make it clear. I am about to pay the £36 for a years unlimited calls and texts and a small bit of monthly data. I emailed them first just to be sure that would be all i need to pay for a year and the answer was yes, unless I need to purchase more data (unlikely)0

I paid the £36 for unlimited calls and texts last October and my next top-up date changed to November 2023. So, no they certainly don't expect any further top-ups.My main reason for changing to them was to get wi-fi calling, and that works perfectly. Virgin had always told me it wouldn't work.1

I've had a catastrophe with my internet: I'm with PlusNet, swapped to full fibre, ported my phone to a VOIP provider - all good. Then PlusNet terminated the fibre connection in error - I'm now having to wait 2 weeks to get it reconnected (which must be just a software switch), so in the meantime ...I've bought a TP-Link 4G router, and a 1p Mobile unlimited SIM card for £25 for 30 days, got them both yesterday, up and running within an hour and watched a couple of hours for TV through streaming last night without a glitch. Router showing 75% signal, whatever that means. To be fair, I've run a few speed tests and have got 70Mbps and 12Mbps and different times, so it is a bit variable. So, currently very pleased with 1p Mobile.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0
